Jo Chen's is way better, they shouldn't have wanted a change

She's actually had other work (and a lot more of it) so I think it's actually a case of her not having time to do the covers as well. Now, if only they could get her to do the Angel ones, too.

You're not a Dracula fan, Paul?
It never occured to me that it was Dracula, though now that you mention it, it looks like him on the cover to #14. It'll be interesting to see...

Issue 16 ... If that's who I think it is on the right, SQUEEEE! I need to start reading these babies. Now I put it in spoilers just in case. If another mod thinks it doesn't need to be, I'll change it.

Screw the spoilers, I doubt anyone cares. I think it's Fray from another one of Joss' comics. Which are awesome. You should check them out.

Ooo that's interesting. But isn't Fray set in the future? I seriously need to start reading season 8 again.

Yeah it is. That's why I wasn't sure if it was her or not.

I thought it was the other slayer - the one who is in love with Buffy (can't remember her name at the moment).

There's a slayer in love with Buffy? Man I'm behind.

Yes there is. She was the one who gave that true love kiss to Buffy in the earlier issues I only found that out when I was reading the threads here. ;D

Aw that's stupid! But I also think that's Fray because she was big on the whole Scythe thing and I'm pretty sure that's what she's holding.

The scene where it's revealed works, I thought. And I had to tilt my head to see it, but it does definitely look like Fray. She has the scythe and the hair! EDIT - I tried to find something confirming that it is Fray, but came up short. I did find the covers to #14, though (with a common theme between them). Standard: Variant:

The interviews that I linked to in the Season 8 thread confirm that it is Fray. And after looking at that cover closely, the flying cars in the background were probably a slight giveaway. Jon Foster's cover for #15 (and his last before Jo Chen comes back with the one Bre posted): And Buffy Omnibus volume 5:

I didn't notice the flying cars. You would think it was clear enough to be noticed. Man, I hope I get my hands on this issue. I really want to know why Fray is in the picture. It would be interesting.

You know as much as I really like Jo Chen's work and want her to come back to doing covers I actually quite like the job that Jan Foster did on issue 15.

Jon Foster's is more stylistic, but Jo Chen's captures the characters more accurately (and all of her covers have been framed beautifully).
