We didn't get it on till late and only made it through one A few observations: * WTF is with LG's retro hairstyle a lot of the time. Hate it. * LG has aged a lot. AB looks older, but not a lot. MC looks the bloody same but I knew that from 'The Good Wife'. LT looks sick * I still Paris. Sad about Doyle though * I miss Richard * Lorelai remains a moll. What she did after the funeral was bullshit. It's like the SP's took note of what a lot of people think of her treatment of her parents and put it in speech for Emily. I enjoyed it. * Emily remains awesome. I gasped when I saw her in jeans On to Spring....

Many, many, many spoilers for Winter-Autumn. Loves
Emily was my absolute favourite, favourite part. I loved every bit of her storyline. Classy, graceful, beautiful. Queen. * Richard's painting. Made me cry a bit * Mae Whitman and Peter Krause cameos *Carole King bit (although I wish it had been Where You Lead!) *KIRK. *Sookie's appearance. MC's voice sounded different. *Michel's gay! (which we always knew, obviously). I love how he feels about kids! Hah! *Dean's appearance. I love that he's happy in Ohio or wherever. I assume 'Jenny' is meant to be a reference to his actual wife Genevieve? The corn starch bit was super cute. I think his appearance redeemed the character. *Lane and Zack and Steve and Kwan *I am not sure if I LOVE the whole Wild storyline (I've seen the movie and read the book, haha) but it was fun with all of the women doing their thing. *I enjoyed the L&DB scene. *Christopher seemed happy and sensible. *Headmaster Charlton. He was so nice! *Nice to see Digger. Respectful and kind. *Lovely to see Miss Patty, but she looks ill *LOVE that Doyle is a screenwriter now. So good. *The opening. So nostalgic. *"Those aren't even your bagels!" "I'm buying them new ones." *Logan is so hot. *Troubadour! *Zack and Lane live in Sookie and Jackson's old house! *MR KIM! *Um...dare I say it, but...I liked April. She was fun. And self-aware. *Reflecting Light *Paul Anka *Stress tap dancing. *Lorelai's phone call to Emily Didn't love:The ending. I was so disappointed with the final 4 (3?!) words. URGH. WHY WHY WHY. Logan = Christopher and Jess = Luke. We've always known this, but seriously ASP? Can't Rory have her own life? And are we really meant to believe that Amy wanted to end season 7, with 22 year old Rory pregnant? In my head, though, Logan leaves Odette, and they go off and live in Maine together with their child (who is NOT a daughter called Lorelai - but with "his hair, and her eyes"). *Rory is still a cheater. Seriously? SERIOUSLY? * HATED HATED HATED Paul joke. LAME. As if. Come on. *It was amazing to see Paris, but I'm disappointed that she's still pining over TRISTAN (why would he be at a Chilton event, he got sent to boarding school! Also it wasn't even CMM. Come on.). Paris and Doyle should be a power couple in D.C. Also, I feel like it's very, very unlikely that she'd have that career at only 32. With two kids. *The lack of Sookie. I understand why Melissa wasn't in it more, but she was very very much missed. *I love Sutton Foster, but the musical was too long. *Jess STILL pining over Rory. She's so far from the girl she was at 16. *The idea of Lorelai (age 48) and Luke (aged...mid 50s?) having a baby. *Website girl *The new maid. Is that Gypsy in a wig? *Speaking of hair...someone fix Lauren's, get Scott a wig, and give Alexis some volumising shampoo (girl, I feel you - my hair is the same). *Lack of theme song at the start. *I assume Rory used her inheritance (from when she turned 25) to fly back and forth from London every 5 minutes. *Lorelai after the funeral. What the hell was that.

I agree with pretty much everything you mentioned Liz. Emily was the best part of it for me but I was left disappointed. Still trying to figure out the point of the musical it seemed like it was a filler.

Musical was a total filler I agree with a lot too Liz. My favourite moment was small and insignificent.... Paris kicking the door shut in the bathroom The only moment that "got me" was when Lorelai walked in and saw the cakes. I may have screamed "Sookie!!!" quite loudly

I have thoughts. Lots of them but Liz pretty much said everything. Never liked Logan and I still don't like him now. You're in your 30s and you're still pulling Life and Death Brigade stuff?! Seriously. Grow up. Also can say the same about Rory. She was very out of character in this series and I didn't enjoy her story throughout.
I'm on Team Jess now. I was when he came back in s6 and kicked some sense into Rory and it looks like he was the only one who grew up during the series. I hope Jess will come back to help Rory with the kid and they'll get together.
Why isn't L&L married? Did they mentioned it? I didn't get that.
Thought the wedding scene was glorious. Yes, it was cheesy and whimsical and very unbelievable (Kirk did all that?!) but it had me crying. Mostly because of the song choice and seeing those two so happy. *tear*
Paris. Best thing about the eps. Including Emily. Though I find it weird that she would work in that whaling museum. Didn't make sense.
I think I was the only one who liked the Paul gag. Heh.
Ooober. That is all.
Peter Krause.
Jason Ritter.
My Parenthood feels.
I don't like Logan but MC was hot. Especially in Fall.
The final four words was perfect for the show. Not what the fans wanted I'm sure since it came with that cliffhanger ending but with the theme of the show, it was prefect. I remember years ago, ASP and AB (or was it LG) wanted to have Rory pregnant in season s6/7 but the network didn't go for it. So I believe ASP when she said this was how she always wanted to end the show and it wasn't some last minute thing she came up with.

My favourite moment was small and insignificent.... Paris kicking the door shut in the bathroom Yes! This was a stand out moment no matter how insignificant. I don't believe in ending long running tv shows with cliff hangers. I hate it. I read this recently: "Rory and Logan’s reunion can best be explained by the fact that this is where Sherman-Palladino has always wanted Rory to end up—a Yale graduate, pregnant and on the cusp of another love triangle, this time between Logan and Jess. We don’t need to see what happens next because we already watched seven seasons plus four 90-minute episodes of it with Lorelai, Christopher and Luke. That’s how Sherman-Palladino intended to end the story. But depending on the ratings, Netflix may have other ideas."

As Lorelai said, "Full freaking circle." So if you think about it, it's not really a cliffhanger of an ending...

Finally finished it. Loved all the Parenthood cameos (especially Peter Krause lol) and couple of Buffy references. And the "cliffhanger" ending was perfect for this show.
More thoughts tomorrow!

ASP interviewGood interview - spoilery of course. I think the main reason why I didn't enjoy the eps as much as I thought I would is because the characters don't seem to have grown since we last saw them. 9 years later and everything is still the same with them, there was no growth. So that was pretty disappointing. Anyway, I would be happy whatever happens next - whether there'll be a second season or not, I'm good.

I'm done I think. I hated Rory even more than before. What a truly horrible character. And you are spot on with Lorelai having not changed at all. No growth whatsoever. Emily ripping into her after the bullshit she said at the funeral was a joy to watch as someone who despises that character.

Most adults don't change that much over 9 years. Rory annoyed me more in the revival than the series, though. Lorelei annoyed me less. I don't think they really need to do more since it seems like it'll all just be a repeat of the series. If what ASP wanted actually happened (Rory has Logan's baby and new love triangle between her, Logan and Jess), then it's not necessary to do more. We pretty much know the outcome. TEAM JESS.

Rory was just annoying. She was always destined to be a single, pregnant careerless woman I guess
