Is Frodo even in the Hobbit? I guess if they're closing the gap between the story of The Hobbit and The Fellowship, they may need him. It'll be interesting.

They've started shooting! I'm super excited for this. We put the LOTR DVDs in our Prequel/Sequel section at work now so it's making these new movies even more real!

Bromance? oh dear. . .
Anyway, i am very much looking forward to this film after all the waiting the anticipation is at the highest level. Two main points. First, how confusing will all those dwarves get? I mean, i got confused reading all the names and trying to remember who was who so i can imagine it being much harder with all the lil buggers running around haha. Secondly, please oh please can we SEE the battle of the five armies! Numpty Bilbo got himself knocked out so we only heard about it in reference. Though im pretty sure the battle of helms deep only covered two pages but about an hour of screen time so i have much hope!

Oh yeah, I'm sure we'll see the battle. That's the beauty of film. They can show things on screen that we might not have been able to in the book.

Yeah not sure why that's necessary. I'm sure it's all money reasons, but there is enough story to put into three films if he takes stuff from the LotR appendices.

Yeah the first one was way too long and stretched out. I didn't hate it, but I was pretty disappointed with it.

That's kind of a bummer. I've heard mostly good things, some "OK" things, and like one or two bad things. I'm really looking forward to it!

While i am still struggling to comprehend the fact that my dearest has seen a movie before me, from what he told me its what i feared most with it..... they have been padded to hell to make it into three films I'll still see it of course, but Les Mis is now top of the Boxing Day list.

Well the book isn't very long so they would have had to stretch it out. I'm staying away from reviews of it.

The three movies aren't just the story from The Hobbit. From what I've heard PJ say, he took stories for Tolkien's appendices to link The Hobbit to The Lord of the Rings, so it justifies the trilogy a bit more. Obviously it was done for money reasons, too, but it's not like stretching one book into three films.

I thought it was really good. Didn't seem stretched out to me, but honestly I didn't remember half the shit that happened in the book, so it was kind of a new story to me. Not as good as LotR obviously, but it was still a damn good movie.

I liked it too. But i did think some things were stretched to the max sorry mate. Seriously, the Gollum riddle game went for twenty fricking minutes for example!! When he came on there was an audible ripple through the cinema which was cool though. Where it ended surprised me a little. There is enough for two more?! Really?! I'm surprised how much i remembered considering i read the book in year four Loved all the Dwarves of course, especially Thorin. Knowing its Richard Armitage under there makes him extra awesome Freeman is perfect as Bilbo. Was good to see Frodo before he was a simpering and whiny bitch. I did like the character once! It looks absolutely beautiful. I only saw it in 2D of course because i despise 3D, but the colours were amazing. And the work they have done on making them look so young was impressive. I know people will say there would be no movie and don't pick etc, and i understood in the LotR why it wasn't possible, but why the hell don't the eagles just fly them there in The Hobbit!?

The riddles in the dark was my favorite part in the book so I'm glad that was a long scene. I loved Thorin's flashback stuff and now have a mad crush on him. He was awesome. I'm kind of curious to see it in 3D with the 48fps now but the 2D was pretty spectacular itself so I'm not dying to see the 3D. Sent from my SCH-I200 using proboards

My kids want to go see this desperately, anything in it that I should be wary of seeing with them?? (They have all seen all 3 LOTR with no problems)
