Nah, if they have seen the LotR they will be fine. Honestly the only thing they might get is a tad bored. I was seat shifting and watch checking at a few points. Never a good sign for me.

Yeah and there's more humor, especially with the dwarves, that they'll probably love.

I saw it last night. I liked most of it, but it was definitely slow moving. Some of the dwarve makeup looked a bit odd too. Seeing Saruman as a not baddie was odd Re the eagles not flying the ring to Modor, the Nazgul were around and they likely wouldn't have made it far. Eagles may not have agreed to help even if asked, they did fly Frodo and Sam out of there afterwards when it was safer. They didn't fly the dwarves the entire way of their journey either so they might not be able to go that distance with a passenger or want to.

I know why they don't in the LotR. Said I understood that when I mentioned it And its my understanding the book of The Hobbit discusses why they can't or won't help (my memory isn't that good to know exactly), but there is nothing in the films. So when they drop them off within sight it's a bit WTF to me
