Cordy and Conner - the Ick Factor

I have this intense desire to bash the relationship between Cordy and Conner. Why? It was gross. Someone was saying to me the other day that there was nothing gross about it. WTF? The whole thing was gross. Lets see why.

Cordelia is the closest thing he has to a mother! She was the one changing his diapers! Sure he grew up and didn't know her well, but he does know that!

He knows she was in love with his father, and that his father loves her.

I know it wasn't actually Cordelia, so we'll forgive her for it. But it was still completely gross. And the way they interacted together made my skin crawl.

Blech is one word to describe this relationship. Cordy and Conner...*feels bile rising* Their interactions with each other made my skin crawl too. It was just so...ick. Especially since that fact that she is basically his mother. That is beyond wrong in so many ways. The whole thing is. *shudders*

Now say your sorry Cordy...or the thing that invaded her say sorry...

I'm probably the only one on here who didn't find it gross. Conner wasn't a kid anymore and he didn't even remember Cordelia. It would be a little hard for him to imagine a woman not much older than him being like a mother to him. And it wasn't Cordelia, it was Jasmine. Cordy wouldn't have slept with Conner because of Angel, but Jasmine had no reason not to.

Agreed it was all very ick! but given Connor's upbringing I doubt he saw anything wrong with it

Why would he see anything wrong with it? He wouldn't remember Cordy from when he was a baby, he only knows her as an adult, and one not that much older than himself. It would be extremely difficult for him to see her as the women who looked after him as a baby.

I find it worse that Angel was just standing outside... watching them. He's his father for god's sake! and he watches! it's just... ew. bah! I hate it. grossness.

well he didnt watch for long ha ha
but he was devastated
and the fact that we all thought it was just regular cordy at the time almost did make me smash in the screen
the whole manipulation thing grrrr and people wonder why conner is so messed up

He stayed and watched the whole thing. I agree, that was gross.

what i meant was as angelus he joked about conner not lasting very long

And that showed he had watched the entire thing. He wasn't evil when he chose to spy on his son having sex. It was gross. The taunting was Angelus, and that was to be expected.

but from now on while i am watching that episode i will just pretend he is focusing on cordy only and that the fact she would have sex with anyone else at all is the reason he stayed

He probably was focusing on Cordelia, but that doesn't make it less gross.

I don't care how much shock he was in, he stayed and watched his son having sex. Nothing makes that not gross.

Its the most he ever saw of Cordy..... Thats what he was looking at more than likely.
And for the record there is nothing that's not gross about that whole scene. I can't even see a baby blue blanket without shuddering
