I've read so many Buffy novels, and i really liked a lot of them. My all time favorite would have to be 'Apocalypse Memories'. I definitely recommend it. I also liked 'Go Ask Malice', 'Blood and Fog', 'Sweet Sixteen'. 'The Lost Slayer' and 'The Unseen Trilogy' were pretty good. I love the 'Gatekeeper Trilogy' so far. I've read the first book, and it was amazing. I can't wait to read the other two.
There are only three books that come to mind that i really didn't. I was kind of disappointed with 'Queen of the Slayers'. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't really good either. I was really hoping for more, and i wasn't impressed with how some of the things were done in the book. I couldn't get into 'Spark and Burn', and 'Carnival of Souls' was a flop.

I recently read Carnival of Souls and I agree with you, Mooshi, it was a flop. I thought the writer was trying too hard. The dialogue sounded too forced to me.

Carnival of Souls actually reminded me of Child of the hunt. Ok, not the same story but the whole Faire vs Carnival going crazy with weird inhabitors felt the same. At first I started thinking that I had already read the book when I later realised that I hadn't, just confused it with another one. One book that I really liked was Queen of the Slayers. I've noticed alot of people didn't like it but I loved it and it had me really crying in the end, damn that Nancy! (sorry Mooshi, I really liked the book ) One I was very disappointed by was Heat. The ideas were there but she really couldn't bring them out on paper. There was a few scenes I liked (one of which I've actually done a fanart piece of) but mostly it was just a great disappointment. I'm a very big fan of the adult books, gotten my hands on all but one, and enjoyed most of them to the limit. The best ones are usually the trilogies because they really like to screw with your head in those. They are not afraid to kill of a main character in the middle of everything and when they set things back to 'normal' to fit with the show in the end, it isn't some cheezy 'it was all a dream' thing, but they come up with really great ideas to set things back.

wow I honestly thought I would never find a person who loved Queen of the Slayers, the book was so bad it made me want to cry!!
'Spark and Burn' is quite hard to get into but if you persevere it gets better, I met the writter at Dragoncon and hearing he inspiration behind the book made a lot more sense

ouch, that's bad *ducks and covers* I got very irritated when I read one of the books (can't remember which now, been a few years) and they kept calling Angelus Angel es. I mean, hello? The writer should know enough about the verse to know that it's angelus. Those kinds of things makes me very distracted and irritated when I read a book about a subject that I know alot about. Spark and Burn was really good. The books where they've focused on Spike, or one of the fanged four has been really good. The one where they run into Jack the Ripper (blood and fog?) was a great book, and how they came with a new explanation as to who Jack really was.

I bought it (in hardcover, too) and read it...and was just not all that into it. It was...well, kind of...really...bad.

Got it in hardcover as well. I won't get ridd of it though because it's a part of my collection of buffy books but I won't recommend it to anyone or re-read it. Ever! As I mentioned above, there's only one part that stuck with me in that book and that's what I used here -> dana.thedudes.nu/chosenart/img/art/crossovers/angel_buffy_02.jpg (might need to copy/paste the adress instead of clicking it, due to hotlinking) One of my absolute favourite books of all buffy books are the gatekeepers trilogy. It's really good and it basically has it all!

I liked the Gatekeeper Trilogy. It's been awhile since I've read it. Should read it again soon.
Hated Heat as well. One of the worst books I've read. I don't think I finished the book actually.
