See, I didn't think that Boreanaz did anything spectacular in that episode. So when Joss said that that was the episode when they realized he could hold his own show, I was in a bit of a suprise. His acting wasn't believable I guess..

wasn't believeable? sure it was, he got ther emotion down and he did it in a femamine way, which I'd imagine was very hard for a guy. plus he plays Angelus really well

Oh he definitely plays Angelus really well, but to me he just wasn't a believable cryer I guess. It looked like he was acting, which I give him props for trying, but still wasn't his best emotional performance imo.

I actually liked "I Only Have Eyes for You" and thought both SMG and David did a wonderful job. I never worried about it looking like acting or seeming fake because they were, after all, possessed by the spirits of others. Of course, maybe that's just me trying to fanwank it.
I really don't like "Ted." Most of them I can stand, but not that one--and "Bad Eggs," too, for some reason, although that one's been growing on me lately.
I also don't like "Villains" and "Two to Go." I was very disappointed that they made Willow into Dark!Willow. I don't think it suited her character at all, even if she was grieving over Tara, so that's most likely why I dislike those episodes so much.

The way Buffy acted when she killed what she thought what a human was interesting. (that sentence is quite badly constructed, sorry!) I agree about Bad Eggs though. Silly episode.

Well, I can't say I hate any episode. Just dislike them. Right now, I Robot...You Jane, Teacher's Pet are the ep I dislike. There aren't many episodes in the other seasons that I dislike. I actually liked "I Only Have Eyes for You" and thought both SMG and David did a wonderful job. I never worried about it looking like acting or seeming fake because they were, after all, possessed by the spirits of others. Of course, maybe that's just me trying to fanwank it. I liked IOHEFY as well. It was superbly acted out by SMG and DB and I really liked the storyline. But then again, I am a Bangel shipper. ;D I quite like Ted and Bad Eggs actually - Ted especially. I just watched Bad Eggs today and it was pretty alright. It was tolerable.

I didn't like smashed. I just didn't like the ending. I didn't like that it implied very violent sex. And yes it may have been used to highlight the violence of Buffy's nature but violent relationships are things I really dislike. No disrespect to the actors who played it very well but the sight of it really gets me angry.

the first time I saw smashed it was on bbc2 and they showed btvs Before the Watershed, so the couldnt show the more detailed parts like the noises and expressions etc;, I remember when I got the Box Set I was so shocked to see the unedited/un censored version.
But I understand what your talking about,I wasnt a fan of the Violent Sex.

Yeah violent sex is not something I really expect to see while watching Buffy. Queer as Folk, maybe, but not Buffy!

It didn't really bother me, to be honest. It wasn't the most comfortable of viewing, but it wasn't meant to be.

It didn't bother me as well but I have to say that I didn't like watching it. Not because it bothered me but because I didn't like the fact that Buffy would stoop so low and have violent sex with Spike. And also, I felt it was uncharactistic for a show like Buffy to have a scene like that.
I hated it even more after I watched the extended version.

I don't hate any episodes of Buffy I think i'm going to have to agree. I can name a bunch of episodes of Buffy that were kind of boring, but i can't think of any that i really couldn't stand. I wasn't fond of 'Never Kill a Boy on the First Date'. It was very slow for me, but the humor was still there and other parts of the episode that kept me interested.

Most of the episodes are great TV. And when they were bad, they were still a lot better than a lot on TV. I look at it along the lines of a bad episode of Buffy is equal to a great episode of Smallville. Different series' set different standards - Buffy's is damn high.

I hate the last four episodes of season seven. Too rushed and uneven.

I'm with Ryley and Mooshi- I don't hate any Buffy episodes, though there are some I dislike. For example, I found "Checkpoint" very boring at parts, yet there are still parts I love (the amusing parts, and the ending).
I was also not very fond of some first season episodes, but I still find bits and pieces to love (also some six season episodes I don't like, but all of them have good parts, and I know most of them are needed for character development). Thus, I never have or will truly hate a Buffy episode.

I think season 5 is one of the seasons that didn't have many episodes that I disliked. Though there are one or two eps that I wouldn't watch more than twice - like Family for example.
