All you Spuffy fans...
I agree that Spike and Buffy had a good friendship in season 7 and she loved him as a friend, but she wasn't in love with him.
Spike even tells her so.
"I love you." "No you don't, but thanks for saying it"
And why do people see Buffy using Spike for sex as a good thing? Why do people even see that part as a relationship? It's not. Yeah, she had issues, but using Spike for sex to sort out those issues just made her have more issues. And it's horrible for Spike, who did love her in his own twisted way at the time.
Buffy and Angel are in love. And it's a true love. You can tell that even after all this time they are still in love-even if they are with other people. Also, Buffy triggered the true happiness clause in Angel's curse. And Angel still loves her even after she sent him to Hell and they stayed together even though there were so many obstacles. Everything in their relationship points to true love in my opinion.

Well, I see what your saying, I used to be a hardcore Bangel fan, but as I started to really get into the later seasons of Buffy, I realized that Buffy and Spike's relationship was much more interesting to watch. Angel and Buffy were sweet and in love and whatever, but it was kind of boring at times, and it was kind of an akward relationship to me. But Spike and Buffy and a lot more chemistry, imo, and it was a lot hotter and more interesting. Even if Buffy didn't love Spike (which I believe she did), it doesn't mean there wasn't a place for him in her heart.

There was a place for him in here heart. I'm not arguing aganist that at all. And I'll admit I am not the best judge since I haven't seen a lot of the later seasons of Buffy.
*Dramatic pause where I'm preparing myself to dodge various objects*
That is because I thought Joss was loosing his touch. The story-telling was getting weak and some things were just too radical for me to accept. The later seasons of Buffy really don't appeal to me.
I am a hardcore Buffy/Angel fan and insist that they have the truest love, but I will not deny that Buffy loved Spike-and Riley-just not to the same extent. And I will also admit that some of Buffy and Spike was interesting to watch in season 7.
However, I also say that it shouldn't have happened at all because after season 4 I began to dislike Spike and wish he wasn't there. When he was the badass vampire I loved him, but seeing him as a Slayer-whipped vampire did not sit well with me. And then he got a soul and...wow I am getting off track.
I did, however, like him again in season 5 of Angel. Yeah, he was a good guy and I was a little annoyed about that, but he wasn't slayer-whipped anymore. (Or at least, not actively slayer-whipped)
And the whole contest between Angel and Spike over Buffy annoyed the hell out of me.
Angel will always love Buffy. She is the one that truly holds his heart. She brought him out of his 80-year funk, made him decide to be a better person, er vampire, broke his true happiness clause, still loved her even after she sent him to Hell and left so SHE could be happy. (And also gave up being human so she wouldn't die) You don't do that for just anyone and those things don't happen with just anyone. However, as we see later in Angel, he has learned not to close his heart to others. Which is good, since I think Angel deserves at least a little happiness. (Hated Angel/Cordy, but I liked Angel/Nina...sometimes I think Angel/Faith would have been interesting and Angel/human Darla)
I think Buffy will always love Angel also, so much so that it put a damper on her relationship with Riley (and Spike to a certain extent). However, I don't think she knows what she really feels and is inconsistent with deciding who she seems to love (Chosen-she kisses Angel, tells him it's possible they could be together in the future, then spends the night with Spike and tells him she loves him)
Part of me also believes that she latched on to Spike because Angel wasn't there.
Does this seem very confusing? If it does, I'm sorry, but sometimes I'm not the best at explaining myself.
Bottom line: I think Buffy and Angel have a love that no one can touch. They may be able to open the hearts to others, but it will always be each other that they love the most.
At least, that's what I think.

First of all... How dare you! I agree with pretty much everything you said, except the fact that Spike was slayer-whipped.. He obviously, for lack of a better word, liked the attention Buffy was giving him, so it didn't really bug me at all. If he didn't want Buffy using him for sex, then he could have gotten out of it.

i do not think buffy and angel will always love only each other the most and if they do then that sad to both coz both never be happy. they loved and then lost and then move on, is what happens and they both did

I said they would always love each other the most, I DIDN'T say they were incapable of loving anyone else.
I actually think if circumstances were different Angel and Nina would have been very happy together.
And (I can't believe I am saying this) if Buffy opened up to Riley more and they were able to hold their relationship together they probably would have been happy, too.

I liked Buffy and Riley's relationship. It was the closest to "normal" she had, imo, after the INitiative crap. But Nina and Angel? I felt no chemisty between them.

I don't want to go through and nitpick right now, but I disagree that Buffy and Angel would never love anyone else as much as each other. I do not believe it was true love, everlasting love, or any of that. It was first love, it meant a lot, was important and they will always have a place in each others hearts, but they both moved on.

I myself am a Bangel. But I'm also a Spuffy. I enjoyed both Buffy/Spike in season seven, I fealt it was sweet and interesting to watch. But Bangel just did so much more for me. I was never bored whilst watching the two on screen, and I have reason to belive they will always be in love with one another. The scene in 'Chosen' said it all for me. Even after so long, even though both had had other relationships since their last meeting, they could still greet one another with a kiss. That's the kind of love that never dies.

I don't believe Chosen said anything to lead me to believe that Buffy and Angel were still in love with each other. The cookie dough speech was Joss leaving it open for the sake of the fans. Angel was Buffy's idealised first love, and sure they still have a lot of affection for each other, but they both moved on.

I ship Spuffy and Bangel equally--or pretty equally, it's hard to be sure, I guess. Anyway, I see myself and (at least) one of my past relationships in both ships, which is one reason they both appeal to me so much. I can connect with them. I think she needed both of them. She was at a different time in her life when she started a relationship with each of them--and while each relationship had its ups and downs I think ultimately each one helped her grow. I may be a Bangel, but it would seem forced to me for her to return to him at this point in her life (where we saw her in S7). And it would have felt weird to me to see her with Spuffy in the earlier seasons. This doesn't mean that Spuffy is meant to last forever--or that Bangel can't be reunited--but that it's not what she needs emotionally and personally right now, at least in my view.
I hope all of that made sense. That's my abbreviated two-cents worth.

well have to say you speak a lot of sense, I can see the upsides in Spuffy, and I love Bangel for its slushy teenage love but for me the best chance Buffy had at a normal life was with Riley.
I know they had their issues, but if Buffy had opened up and included him more it could have really worked out with Riley

I can't vote for any of them. I like all the relationships sometimes, but I was never a big fan of any of them.

I'm actually going to take the stance of "I liked them all." True, I voted for Spuffy, but that was because I just like Spike a whole big lot. But, in truth, I really thought all the relationships were great and I can't really say any one was better than another.
Let me explain: Bangel...I had to go back and rewatch the first few season to remember why I loved Bangel because, for awhile, I forgot. I mean, back when we were first meeting him, Angel was freaking cool. He was hot. He was mysterious. As for the relationship itself, it's what Buffy really needed. He was a big strong protector and, at that point in her life, thats exactly what she needed to get through the early years of being the slayer. She needed someone she could go to, that she could faith in because he was so much stronger than her and loved her so very much. She could feel safe.
Riley, well, he was perfect for her bid to be "normal." She wanted so bad to have a normal life. Now, yes, he was a demon hunter, but he was still human. He was still solid, and she could actually see some kind of long term for it. After what happened with Angel, I know she was shaken by the idea of the future, but with Riley it wasn't as big of a question. And, again, he had that solidity that she really seemed to lean on from time to time.
Lastly, Spike. Spike was a mistake, and she knew it. She was using him and, in the end, she knew it was wrong. But there were feelings there that she just hadn't accepted. And, in season seven, I think he was perfect for her. He was someone who understood exactly what she was, who she was, and accepted her with no questions. He loved everything about her. He didn't force her to dwell in darkness as her relationship with Angel did, or her ORIGINAL relationship with him did. He didn't expect her to not be the slayer at all times. He understood, and I think his support of that was really important to her finally being able to stand on her own two feet as the slayer. Her relationship with him was far less codependent than her others had been.
So I really think that each relationship has played an important role in her life, and I really don't think that she would be the same person she is now, if not for each and everyone of those men.

Definately Bangel. Not even a contest. Their relationship was so beautiful and I was so upset when he left at the end of season 3. I truly believe that Angel and Buffy are soulmates and no one is as perfect for her as him.

I agree, Skitty. While I'm not a big fan of Ruffy, I do realize its importance in her life. It was her shot with Joe Schmo and she jumped at it. I would have done the same in her position, I'm sure, and I think it was very beneficial to her. She was given the opportunity she'd always wanted. True, it didn't work out between them, but now she knew whether being with a regular guy could ever be a reality. I think it gave her something to hope for.
That's what irks me the most about hard core shippers--they seem incapable of understanding that each ship was important in some way.
