Bollocks. It was all about making out and hormones at first, then they developed genuinely strong feelings for each other. Look how devastated Cordy was when she found him cheating. And Xander was desperate to get her back at first - also look at how far he took things in Bewitched, Bewildered and Botherd (or however that goes )

I don't deny that, but it's still a relationship that I feel was doomed to failure. Even when they began to care about each other, it still seemed like it was hormones first. The Cordy/Doyle thing, not so much.

Well Doyle was obsessed with Cordelia before he knew anything about her, it was pure physical attraction on his part.
And i am with Beck on this one. Cordelia braking down in "Homecoming" saying that she may die before she can realise that she may in fact love Xander. And her wearing the necklace even after she dumped him in BBB. I think their relationship is sometimes underestimated. Cordy could have chosen anyone in the school to have a display of hormones with.

I did forget about Cordy's little Homecoming bit, but as for her choice of Xander, I think a lot of that was due to the life and death situations and all. As for Doyle, I don't know if it was all physical attraction, even at first - granted, he hardly knew her when he fell for her, but they'd chatted, and he'd seen her interaction, etc.

The second half of that paragraph was on topic!
What did people think of Gwen? Granted they never got together, but it was hinted as a possibility.

Haha and so was the first part of mine *sobs*
Gwen i found very sexy, had to be the outfit. Liked that she caused trouble for bitch Cordelia. Did Gwen and Gunn have sex? I think probably not, but what do you think?

I think based upon their conversation it's pretty obvious that they had sex. As for Angel and Gwen, Ground State, they never really legitimized the kiss either in terms of their relationship or metaphysically. Didn't really make sense to me.

I'll haqve to rewatch that episode. To me, the whole Gunn and Gwen thing was left pretty vague.

Was it not obvious? Oh. I well I've always assumed that was the case. I believed it was implied in the conversation they were having. It was also an interesting parallel with Fred and Wes' converstion about the lack of conventionality on Wes/Lilah. It highlighted the differences of longing for intimacy and feeling apart of something but not at the same time. Back to Gwen and Gunn, I still feel it was heavily implied even if one argued it never happened.

Well, I would say, from the conversation, actions and emotions, they did have sex. In that case Gunn is a lucky blighter. Plus, Gunn came back all happy and such and such. I'd be happy if I made static with Gwen.

Gunn and Gwen definitely had sex, I wasn't aware that was ever in dispute They were on the bed, kissing and laying down, after she was no longer charged with electricity... talking about it... how much more obvious could it be?

I remember the actors and directors discussing whether they had or hadnt in the extras. I think that puts it in to dispute

I never for a second thought they didn't have sex And i don't recall there being a conversation about it in the extras... but i'm not saying there isn't one.

I could be wrong But i think it was something like that which gave me my doubts about the two of them I will have to have a check sooner or later.

What did they say in the interview? It seemed weird after everything they were saying they just had a kiss and a cuddle. They were obviously talking about sex because Gwen had kissed a guy before (Angel). Maybe they were talking about it and then had a kiss and cuddle but it seems pretty non sequitur to me.

After re watching that episode i am inclined to change my view and say that Gunn and Gwen most likely did have sex. I was sure though that i saw something on the extras that had made me doubt. Oh well.
Reading back, i voted for Wes/Lilah but i am starting to prefer Angel/Darla the more and more i watch. Just something about them. They have all that passion and heat as soulless beings and then you can see the otherside to them when they both had souls, or at least when Darla was sharing Conners. If Darla could have been re ensouled i think Vamp Darla and Angel could have worked much better than Cangel.
