Watched Jaynestown last night. So far it was my favourite episode. Bernie and I laughed so hard through almost the entire thing. Loved it. Funniest episode of anything I've watched in a long time.
Loved the song. Is there a FF soundtrack? is that on it? if so I want it.

You thought it was funnier than 'Our Mrs Reynolds'! You sick, sick woman. (Do love Jaynestown though. Adam Baldwin singing it is a DVD Easter Egg)

I loved Our Mrs Reynolds too, but it didn't make me laugh anywhere near as much as Jaynestown. The reactions of the other characters were classic...especially with that statue. LOL, all it took was the start menu with the picture of the statue to make us laugh again. Oh it was hilarious *wipes tear*

Fair enough. But i don't know how you can go past: Mal: How drunk was i last night? Jayne: I don't know, i passed out (Nate cracks me up in that moment) Books 'Special' Hell "Woah good Bible", "Woah good Myth" Mal: Is it Christmas? What happened about me? Jayne's Rainstick Vera PLUS Inara kisses Mal! I know he's passed out but still.....

I thought his dumbass comment at the end was great too "I knew you let her kiss you!" Mal you idiot!! As I say I did love it.
But Jaynestown just had so many great moments too ...wash and mal telling Zoe about Jayne being a hero, tha statue, the song, Jayne's in hiding outfit, actually anything related to Jayne's hero status, simon and kaylee NEARLY getting together, Inara's speech about Mal, simon buying mud, River fixing the bible and Books hair "Just keep walking preacher man"

Watched the Message last night. Not one of the best episodes though I loved the Kaylee/Simon scenes. poor simon, never can say the right thing can he?

The Message is all about the music for me. It kills me with its brilliance. Love how Kaylee just walks up and holds Simons hand- i'm not a huge Simon/Kaylee shipper (i'm all about Mal and Inara) but that is an awesome moment. Browncoats motto makes me a wee bit teary....

Time to revieve maybe??
Which episode do you think was most important to the series?
There are pleanty of ways you could go with this- was it the pilot that gave en explosive start and got everybody hooked? was it Out of Gas the provided the most information about the crew and how they came to be on Serenity? was it Ariel that revealed what the aliance had done to River?

I'll probably get something thrown at me here, but Jaynestown wasn't one of the best episodes... I did like how they gave Jayne a bit more character, showed he wasn't just an ass. And Our Mrs Reynolds wasn't all that great either.. it was funny at parts, but I think YoSafBridge bugged me..
Out of Gas is my favorite. And I think it does the most for the show. It was just an all around effective episode.

lol yeh I think you'd better run before Beck and Loz get on!
I have to agree Out of Gas is my absolute favorite I just didn't want to declare it as the most important! lol I thought I'd get shot down bet I'm glad you agree.
I think the style of the episode showcase the talent of each actor and Tim Minear/ David Soloman, it also gave huge promise of what could have come in the rest of the series or searies 2.

In 'Out Of Gas' did anyone else find Kaylee badoinking that engineer kinda.. ooc? I for one was shocked when i saw it was Kaylee. She just never seemed the type to engage in casual sex. I know she doesn't agree with always being proper and everything, but wasn't that a little much?

not at all. to me it seemed to fit right in with her character. She was never one to be shy about sex and I just love that whilst she was doing it she was checking out the engine of serenity

Yeah I never found it OOC. Especially after watching the movie, she's definately keen on the sex lol. And she is always interested in Inara's work, she's not shy about sex. You just don't get to see her have any!

Really? I was shocked the first (and only) time I ever watched that scene.. I always fealt that Kaylee was interested in Inara's work, but never that forward about sex herself..

well its show clearly in the film that she is definately interested and open about sex, so on reflection Kaylee having sex with the then mechanic doesn't seem out of place

At the time i was a little shocked about the Kaylee sex scene. But certainly while watching through after the film it seems like a very understandable thing for that character to be doing. Sex and engines, her two favourite things, combined.

i think ariel was the more important episode not only did it fill some gaps about river it showed the lenths mal would go to protect his crew/unit, and it shown us how mercenary jayne was

Time to revive seeing as we have plenty of new members that are fans.
I'm still going with Out of Gas being the most crucial episode
