When I was a kid there was a store in a shopping mall near my uncle's house with an Atari 2600 on display, and people could play with it. When my mom had to go buy food, I used to go there and play, play and play with it for hours... I remember it like it were yesterday... eventually, my parents decided to buy me an Atari 2600 for Christmas... lol...

I figure I'll revive this thread and pose the question of what's everyone's all time favourite console game?

Final Fantasy! Pre FF12, anything after that is Bollocks.

I never got into those, myself. I think it's because, historically, I don't have the patience for long games.

I figure I'll revive this thread and pose the question of what's everyone's all time favourite console game? Probably Mario Cart. It's just such a classic. Okay, so my brother is going overseas. I'm going to buy his Wii and then my other brother will have to beg me to use it!

Um sorta...Double Dash means you have two characters on the one kart, the driver and the 'gunner'. The gunner releases the items.

Ah, okay. I think I've actually played that version too, now that you've reminded me (I never owned it on my Gamecube, though).

Rent it! It's very awesome.
What's your favorite Nintendo console?

My favourite Nintendo console would have to be the Gamecube, since it's the only one I've actually owned. That said, I was really disappointed with the lack of games released for it locally (and that's one of the reasons I'm still undecided on ever getting the Wii), which lead to me getting the Xbox and now the 360.
Whats your favourite one, Liz?

I never played Mario Kart at all. I would prefer to play Road Rash on Sega Mega Drive.

LOL, Road Rash was a classic! I loved whirling chains at opponents and making them come off their bikes!

My God, I forgot about Road Rash, thats going back quite a bit . Mario Kart is great, I love Yoshi, Double Dash was awesome. I also love, (on the subject of nintendo) Double Dragon and Mario Paint Woot! , Pit Fighter was kind of Bollocks. Onto Sony, Ridge Racer and Destruction Derby! Microsoft (Xbox 360) Gears of war, Nintendo stopped making games for the GC now to, I think they pretty much gave up on it. Though Nintendo are in talks with Square-Enix to make a Stand alone Final fantasy game! yay!

i went out & got myself a ps3, i spent £425 on it and now i cant afford any games till next month, so its a expensive ornament at the mo, i tried to put it online but it turns out virgin media are not compatable with the ps3, i then tried to play some old ps2 games on it, but i need to put the console online to download a patch to make the games compatable DOH!! luckily i have the option of using a data stick but i dont pwn one at the moment ggrrr.
the ps3 is the most complicated console i have ever come across, i will let you all know if its worth the cash once i can afford to get a game

Please do, Paul.
And as for the complicatedness, it sounds very much like the 360. That said, once you have the 360 online, you have basically no concerns - hopefully the PS3's that easy, too.

Aside from my all-time favourite Pac-Man ( ), I love RPGs. The Lunar series on the Sega CD and Playstation 1 are my favourite. Skies of Arcadia on the Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo GameCube simply rock too!

I've never played Skies of Arcadia, but I've heard it's brilliant.
I recently got Lost Planet for the 360, and am quite disappointed with it. It's not a bad game, but it seems to be lacking the "awesome" factor. I've only played it for about an hour or so, and haven't been motivated to play it any more.
It's a sci-fi action game, which seems to be inspired by Starship Troopers - the aliens are reminiscent of the ones from the movie, and it features mechs similar to the book. That said, the planet's basically ice and snow, so you have to not freeze to death.
