I can't currently afford any of the next-gen systems That's why I play everything with a 1-generation delay When the PS2 came out, I bought the PS1. When the 360 came out, I bought the first Xbox... and so on. I know it can seem stupid, but there is an advantage... I get the chance to buy all of them for pretty cheap prices, and I don't really care about playing games much much later than most people do. At least I can afford them this way

I don't see it as stupid. And it's not like that they stop producing games for the previous generation when the new one is released (the original Xbox was seeing more games released than the 360 when it originally hit). Besides, the PS2 outsold the PS3 upon its release in Japan, so you're not the only one.

What I truly like about the new generation systems is high definition. Not just because it means higher quality and more complex graphics, but simply because it's so much easier to watch for my eyes, especially considering I wear glasses... unfortunately, I don't have a high definition TV, and definitely won't be able to afford one until they get a lot cheaper, so I guess right now I'd get no benefit from the HD capabilities of the Xbox 360 or PS3. Anyway, just out of curiosity... does anyone know if the Wii is capable of HD too ?

I cant play the 360 on my tv, because it doesnt support the 360, so I have to play it in the living room, or on my brothers TV, he has an HD tv, everything looks real . I dont think Nintendo were looking at supporting HD, it definetly wasnt as high of a priority as it was to Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo known for there more cartoony games, and I dont think they require HD , I dont think they need that Extra "Sharpness". But I dunno, maybe they do .

Yeah my little brother did. You know the one with the drinking glass? I actually open my mouth when I do it, it's so silly.

For the people that have the PS3, what do you think of the online capabilities?

I don't have one, though I hear it's fairly limited - ie, slightly above the original Xbox's. I'm happy to stand corrected, though.

Well my boyfriend, his brother and his best friend all have one, they play together online on a game called Resistance, which is a shoot-em-up action game. I love online play, mainly coz it is versus the whole of Australia and N.Z. Soon, hopefully by the end of the month it will be a global network as well, so I think the advancements that they are making are good, the fact that they are always working to make it better is good.
I think the online depends on your connection as well. My boyfriend has wireless and it seems to run pretty smoothly on that but if you are playing an online game with someone with a crappy connection they lag all the time and that's ANNNOYING. I think it depends on what game you play online as well.

Oh, definitely. For online play without the bonus features, I'd expect it would be on par with the 360 (and I'm assuming the Wii) and pretty freakin' sweet. With the 360, it's great for the most part, though there can be some lag with some of the games - other games have basically none. I was surprised when playing the Halo 3 beta online that there was no lag whatsoever. It was just as smooth as offline.

I like online play, but on a console its hard to communicate with people, you cant type and you have tonnes of nationalities, I played perfect dark and listened to a kid, about 11, curse and curse, and the language he was using, my god. and everyone needs a break at somepoint, although I always have a laugh at people who shout "LOL" and LMAO , its so funny .

That is amusing, Nico! Personally, I don't bother with trying to communicate with people while playing online... just beating them.

I've been playing WoW. Its rather addictive I havent had a problem with lagging yet, but my connection is fast. I don't bother to talk to other people unless its to thank them for increasing my armour or something

I keep hearing it's addictive, which is why I refuse to play.

My boyfriend has a headset in which he talks to his friends when they are playing, we went on it once just to see what other people were saying and they were just talking about tactics about how to play the game, boring stuff. But they always swore when they died, lol.

LOL, they do. I have a headset on the 360, but don't use it. I'm just antisocial.

We used to have a Sega and my favorite game on there was Lion King and a game called Rage where you'd have to fight your opponent with dinosaurs lol. On the PS2, i really like Buffy the Vampire Slayer:Chaos Bleeds. That's an awesome game. Still haven't beat it though. I think my favorite for PS2 are the Need for Speed games. I would love to try playing Final Fantasy though. A have a few friends who are pretty big fans.

I was really upset with buffy the vampire slayer, I got it for my gamecube, and finished it so quickly, I done the exact same when I bought harry potter for the gamcube, finished it in a day so I took it back and they actually gave me another game! . Need for speed is an awesome game series, I also loveeeee destruction derby, micro machines , all those games!
