How is there no thread already Anyways, this show is my new obsession and I have finished both seasons and I am now reading the books (4 read already lol). I have been a bit surprised by how many differences there are, especially that they make Bill far more "good" in the series than he is in the books! Who are everyone's favourite characters and least favourites? My favourite is by far Eric, both on the show and in the books. I love Pam too. Bill I am not very keen onin the books, but I didn't mind him on the show. Sookie is ok but I don't love her. Lafayette rocks Unfortunately he dies at the start of the second book and is barely in the first one so thank god they decided to make more of his character for the show!

I haven't read the books yet so I'll just ignore what you said about Lafayette lol. Tara is so annoying, I love her. Eric, brilliant and gorgeous. And Jessica, I feel sorry for her, but she and Hoyt are so cute together.

I haven't read the books yet so I'll just ignore what you said about Lafayette lol. Haha well they changed it for the show, because he didn't die There are quite a few differences as in the books you only really see things from Sookie's side, so all the side stories with the other characters isn't in them. Which is nice, means the show is more fleshed out for the other characters.

I can't wait. The final episode of season 2 was such a cliffhanger. I've got 7 or 8 of the books, I haven't started reading them yet. Might get stuck into them soon.

Why True Blood Kicks Twilight's Ass - from IGN, June 4, 2010. So true. "Knives out! We know Twilight fans will take major umbrage with this feature but we also know they'll probably have to look up what the word "umbrage" means so we'll try to stay a couple steps ahead of them"Teeheee. I am really looking forward to season 3! Can't wait til the 13th! So, season 3 will loosely follow the plot of the third Southern Vampire Mysteries novel, Club Dead. I guess the use of the word "loosely" is pretty important though, didn't the books have Lafayette dying? Hmm, I think I might have to quickly watch season 2 again...

Season 3 should be good. The Sookie storylines are fairly closely related to the books so far, it is the other character stuff that is added as in the books no one else's storylines are shown. At all So none of the MaryAnne stuff happened in the books, no Jason and Andy stuff etc. I am interested to see how they go with Arlene, her character in the show is quite different to how she becomes in the books. In the books there is no Jessica, and Lafayette was a minor character that died at the very start of book 2. Things I look forward to: More Eric! Alcide Bubba Ummm anything else would be spoilerish

I own the 1st season of true blood, would love to own season two but I don't have the money to afford it. As far as the books go I don't know if I'll ever read them but the show is most definitely addicting , makes me wish I had HBO but since I haven't seen season two yet watching season three would be pointless because I'd be extremely confused. The other sad part is I can't watch it on my computer because I have a really sucky connection, it'd cause my bandwidth would sky rocket.

Season 2 isn't too expensive here in Aus, is it over in the US? I don't know if we will get season 3 played here, I might have to wait until the DVD Hope not though. Or Bernie will find it for me... <cough> Check out the books Dani, if you love the show you will love them 10 out so far.

I was the same way, Beck. I started watching this series and immediately ran out for the books. I'm on the last one to come out now and I know what you mean about Bill. In a big way.
I'm definitely on team Eric. Who couldn't love a huge viking of a vampire?

Especially one that looks so good I love BookEric more than ShowEric at the moment, but more Eric should come out in Season 3. I hope they follow the books line with Bill, if the author decided he was a phooey main love interest the series better too I'm halfway through the current book.

I liked Eric a lot in season 2 because not only do we finally get to see how big he actually is (did anyone else notice how tall he was compared to Bill?) but we get some actual range out of him.
I loved him asking about his hair in like...the second episode. And I loved his interactions with Godric on the roof. I wanted to cuddle the big bad viking!

I loved that scene and the one with Godric but it does make me wonder how they will explain his maker turning up in one of the later seasons... though I suppose that won't happen until what, Season 10 if it gets that far? Season 4 I am looking forward to most - hugely different Eric and I think it may shock some non book readers

I've read the first 7 books, I'm surprised at just how different they are. I hope they show Season 3 here!

I don't think having his maker around in the books was ever a really big plot point, so I think they can get away with switching it.
I'm looking forward to Eric running down the road in those red speedos myself as well.

MmmHmm that will be lovely Putting Season 3 eps in spoilers as they haven't aired on free to air in Australia. I'd say yet but who knows if they will. Episode 1: Bad Blood So many things were happening in this episode so I'll go character by character Sookie - My god girl, you are a whiney PITA at times. Does she seriously expect the police to help her find a vamp, and lets face it it did look like he just ran off in a temper, when there are dead humans about? And telling Tara they are in the same boat? Hello, yours isn't dead and is a vampire Yes you are worried, understandably, but your best friend just lost her boyfriend hold it to yourself for five minutes. I loved how uncomfortable she was around naked Eric Pam - some great moments, I was pleased to see her more Book!Pam in this episode. Her protests as Sookie was going down the stairs cracked me up, and I loved her little scene with Lafayette. Lafayatte - yay for some spark back. His scenes with Tara's mum were great. Loved how he tried to calm Tara when she was fighting with Sookie too. Though speaking of.. Tara - I agreed with her being angry with Sookie. The girls both knew he was likely the one MaryAnn controlled into killing people and he didnt need to know. On the other hand, he did practically beg her. But then Tara doesnt know that isnt what caused Eggs death. I didn't like Tara for most of this episode. You are grieving, I get it. Suicidal? Bill - Booh Bill, though he didn't annoy me too much in this episode. And hell I appreciated the scene with him and Sam even if it was a dream Eric - Eric is hotness as usual. I liked his little snits with the Queen and ranting with Pam. Oh and can't go wrong with Naked Eric Jason - poor Jason. I felt sorry for him in this episode. Where does he find all these sluts though I'm curious as to how this storyline will play out as it is completely different to the books. Sam - glad he found his parents and saw through Tommy's lie. General thoughts - Next week must be the introduction of Alcide so I am looking forward to that. I wonder if bubba will also make an appearance next week.

I have certainly missed Bubba. I desperately want him to make an apperance and I think it's probably because having his image will be really really expensive.
