Weee! A ManU thread! I got into ManU when I was 13. I'm the only girl in my family so my cousins are all into football. I didn't really get into the sport only until when I found out that my boyfriend was a ManU supporter. Been a fan ever since. My Dad or brother isn't into football though. So I'm the only one who wakes up in the middle of the night to catch the games. Btw, did you catch the Roma game last week? I was on the high the whole day after that match. I have never seen football played like that in my entire life. Treble here we come! ;D

I know it was fantastic and it was Man U at their best, it was very similar to the old days when Man U won every year and of course when we won the treble in '99 I still contend that the Chanpions league Final is the best match ever! we were loosing 2-1 and come back in the last 3 minutes of the game to win 3-2!

Argh! I can't stand Chelsea. I really can't - ever since the takeover. I don't mind anyone else winning the Champions League/EPL etc as long as it's not Chelsea. Absolutely cannot stand them!

I hope they won't win anything either. They are going on and on about winning the quadruple . Don't they know that only ManU can do that? Pfft! The Chelsea and ManU showdown will be THE match of the season! Who are your favourite players, Tash?

From the current team I really admire Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs and of course Ole Gunner, I can't count the number of times he's given us that golden late winner!. Ronaldo has been fantastic this year and I have faith in Rooney even though I don't like his attitude a lot of the time. Gary Neville and Patrik Evra I have a lot of respect for, especially since I saw Evra play up close he made some fantastic tackles at the last match I went too
How bout you?

You are so lucky to see them play!
I love Solskjaer. I liked him when I first started supporting them. Like him even more when he scored that winner! I really admire his work ethic and how he can get those winning goals even when it seemed impossible.
I'm also a fan of the older players like Giggs and Scholes and the young ones like Rooney and Ronaldo. But Solskjaer has to be my favourite player of all.
I'm also a huge fan of Hargreaves and I hope United get him in the summer. It would be such a boost to the club.

I was excited at first but do you think we really need him? Carrick is doing a a fantastic job and now that Smith is fit I don't think we need any more midfielders.
As far as picking up new players we need a couple of defenders and atleast one new striker, we're doing well considering all the injuries but I think we could have 'won' the premiership by now if we had our strongest team available, defensively we've really missed Neville and if he'd been there we wouldn't have lost to Portsmouth and would still be 6 points up with 5 games to go

I was thinking about that a few days ago when reports said that Hargreaves is likely to end up at United. Carrick is finally showing why Sir Alex paid so much for him and Smith is doing great. So in a long run United don't really need a another midfielder. There is also Scoles and Fletcher in the team. Then again, Hargreaves is more defensive so they can use up to help the back four. Also, I don't think Smith would go back to his midfield role like last season. I think he does a much better job with Rooney up front. I feel that his link up play with Rooney is much better than a Saha and Rooney partnership. I, too, think they need more defenders, esp central defenders. Brown and O'Shea are alright as subs but they don't have the experience so they won't do well as replacements. The team needs a really good and experienced central defender. As for strikers, I think we are fine in that department. Though another striker would be good in case Rooney or Ronaldo gets injured in the future. We can't rely too much on them. United should offload Saha though. I don't like him.

Yeh I'm not a huge fan either, I really wish we could have kept Larsson. Smith I agree is probably better as a striker but so far he's only been used in Midfield, he did however link up great with Rooney last Saturday. Ronaldo I prefer to see play on the wing but lets face it he gets all over the pitch and has the ability to take the ball from one a defensive position right into an attack! Defensively I quite like O'shea but he needs more expericence and I've recently lost faith in Ferdinand and Van Der Sar after the own goal humiliation! I'd be happy if we picked up a decent central defender as good as Vidic. Here's another reason why we need another striker news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/6572993.stm

Nooo!!! *sigh* I guess sooner or later it would happen. I won't be surprise if the other old guns follow suit. I wish we can get Torres for next summer. I think he would do great at United. Beside him, I can't think of anyone at the moment who would be a great striker for us. I was really mad when they let Van Nistelrooy go. He was such a huge asset for us. As for defense, I prefer Brown than O'Shea. I thought Brown has been playing really well during the last couple of games. O'Shea has been deployed a lot in the middle of the park, which I think isn't his best position. I rather see him play at the back. Vidic has been outstanding and we really miss him. Ferdinand is a different player without Vidic. I've lost faith in Van Der Sar as well. I thought he was more to blame for that own goal. He did quite a number of mistakes in that game and at the game in Rome. Foster looks to be a better goalkeeper now. I would like to see him play as first choice keeper next season - just to teach Van Der Sar a lesson.

I know he had to go eventually but I'd think he had a season or 2 more in him. Van Nistelrooy had the wrong attitue for me, he was a good player but he wasn't a team player. Giggs I hope never leaves! Scholes too they are such good strong players
As far as strikers I'm not sure who would work well with Rooney, Larsson's already proved himself but I don't know if he's be available.
Your right about Ben Foster he's really proven himself so far, especially with the England caps but I like Kuszczak he's done well in all 12 appearances this season. Van Der Sar has an annoying habit of punching the ball lately its like he's forgotten how to catch! and the own goal was sickening! why didn't he just throw his body on the ball instead of watching it go in the net! he had plenty of time to stop it
what do you make of our last 5 games Middlesborough, Everton, Man City, Chelsea and West Ham

You're right about Van Der Sar. I don't know why, all of a sudden, he keeps punching the ball forward when he can easily catch it or push it out. He did at the Watford game last weekend and he was lucky no one was there to capitalise on his mistake. As for our remaining games, I have the confidence to see them win at least 4 of the games. I think a draw at Chelsea will be enough for us (our goal difference is definitely helping). I'm quite worried about the Everton and Man City game though. They are quite tricky ties. But on their day, ManU can win it quite comfortably. They have AC Milan in between and I'm afraid Sir Alex would rotate the squad and as a result, having that rotattion backfiring on him like it did at Portmouth. If he puts out his strongest side for all the remaining games, United can go on to win the Treble - or at least win the Premiereship and the FA Cup.

Everton I see as being in the same kind of league as Blackburn they both have the potential to cause big upsets but the will of our players and our confidence is so high at the moment that I think even if we go 1-0 down we can still come back to win 4-1!
Man City we will be well up for because of it being a darby and we'll will no doubt win even if it is close. All I'm expecting from the Chelsea game is United not to sit back and take lots of pressure like they did against Liverpool, I'll be the first to admit we didn't deserve the 1-0 victory because we didn't even try for it. But against Chelsea I'll be expecting for them to go at it hard and get a few goals.
Some good injury news: Evra is fit for Boro game, Neville will be fit for Everton and Vidic should be back in time for Chelsea! Hopefully we will have a fit back 4 for Chelsea so I think Millan is our only worry for the moment. However, quite a few players have been fairly rested lately like Park, Giggs hasn't started every game and Solskjaer of course so we've got room for movement

That's good news about Evra. At least we have some stability and experience at the back for the Boro game. I read that O'Shea would be back for the Boro game as well so our backline isn't all that ravaged. My only concern is Vidic and Neville. I hope they get back as plan as we so need them as the season comes to the end. I'm a bit worried about Milan. I know it's asking a bit too much but I hope the boys play like they did in Rome. At least, not concede a goal (or have a goalless draw). Winning at Milan would be tough so I hope we win at Old Trafford and get the job done so to make the tie easier for us. I always think playing the 1st leg at home is an disadvantage. I hope it isn't so. Would like to see Park and Solskjaer having a game at Boro. I like Park. Hardworking and exciting player. Not as exciting as Ronaldo but he does good with the ball. And with Solskjaer around, we can expect to score. Agree with you on the Liverpool game. We were very lucky to grab the 3 points. I, too, hope we don't sit back for the Chelsea game because Chelsea will do anything and everything to win. One mistake would cost us the game. I rather have them on the backfoot. Should be an exciting end to the season. Can't wait! I just hope we don't blow it and not win anything!

its tempting fate but I'm gonna do it anyway and say that will NEVER happen! Millan is going to be tough but its a huge advantage for us having a home game at the moment we're flying high winning every home game since before christmas, so like you said if we can get ahead by a few goal at home it will be easier away in Millan just as long as Millan don't get an away goal. Everyone will hopefully be fit for Chelsea so it will be an exciteing preview for the FA Cup Final. I'm also going to be cheering on Liverpool against Chelsea for the European game, how boring would it be if we beat Chelsea in the Premiership then in the FA Cup then again in the Chanpions League! So how do you get to watch the matches? on-line? I bet they're on really late too
