Man City have the hardest group in my opinion, which I'm happy about. So no football till next week 'cause of the international break. Don't know what to do with myself now.

Yeah, I was expecting games today and then remembered they were on an international break. Hockey season hasn't started yet, so I'm a bit devoid of sports right now.

Irene, I just read that Cleverly's out for the UEFA campaign opener. Do you think this will affect them at all? (I can't remember which other teams are in their group.) Barcelona's also out a player, possibly for a couple months, but as he's one of the club's new summer signings, I don't think his absence will affect the team too much. Barcelona's group is a bit harder than ours, I think, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I don't think it will as we have Carrick to replace. Cleverly has been tremendous for us so far this season so we'll still miss him. But we've got a good replacement so I'm not all that worried. Can't remember who we are playing though. Benfica maybe? My mind is on the Chelsea game on Sun.

What a crap game!
2-0 up at half time and then losing 2-3 before we scored a last minute equalizer. Our defending was the worst I've seen all season - and most of the errors came from our senior players!
As of now, we haven't won the first two of our CL games. The last time that happened, it was in the 98/99 season and we went on to win the CL. Bright side?

Hmm...I must have missed that result. As you're not in our group, I don't often get the scores. I didn't think your group was as tough as some of the others, either. Losing two games in doesn't put you out of the competition yet, but they will have to work harder to make it through to the next round.

We didn't lose both game, just drew them. It just makes it that we have to win our remaining games to go top and can't take it easy on the last game as we always do. We should have easily beat Basal but we were too complacent at the back. We were lucky to have drawn that game to be honest.

Ah, I see. The site where I browsed through the headlines made it seem as though you'd lost both games, but to be honest I didn't read any details.
Have I given you my rant about our red home kits this year?

I think I saw it on FB. I don't remember Real ever wearing red before. Do you have a link to a pic of it?

They look so much like Liverpool! Yeah, never seen them in red. Don't they usually wear black or dark blue for their away kit? Odd. Do you plan on buying any of their jerseys?

I don't like the red at all. *hmph* Yes, they usually wear a dark purple/blue color for the away kit. The red kits are actually replacing our white home kits, which just makes me hate them even more. I have a generic home jersey--no number or name on the back, just white. If I could afford it I'd buy a player-specific jersey each year like Kyle does for Manchester United, but there's no way I'll be able to afford that for a while. So, I just have a generic home jersey for RM and the Spanish national team. I'd like a generic away jersey for RM to match, at least.

We suffered our worst defeat since 50 years or so at home.

I had a right ol laugh at it to. We need things like this to make us remember our team isn't untouchable. Aye, ok, I just don't like Manchester United

I completely missed that game. No wonder Kyle's made no mention of it on Facebook.
Real Madrid's doing fairly well right now--better, at least, than how we started the season. The last time I checked we were ranked third in the standings. OK, third, fine. There are plenty of games left in the season. What gets me is who's ranked 2nd...Levante. I don't even think they broke into the top 5 last year and they're ranked 2nd right now! Although, I guess I'd rather Levante than Sevilla. Sevilla just gets under my skin.
