"Consenting Adults" with Kevin Spacey, Kevin Kline, the chick who played Gina in Scarface and Lawrence Whittaker. It was an old flick from 92 and Kevin Spacey was young with blonde hair. Never saw him like that before. It was a good flick, suspenseful, had some twists I wasn't expecting.

Gone Girl. Actually lived up to its hype. Affleck is perfect for Nick. He divides people and that suits the role to a tee. Dickens, Perry, NPH and Coon are all excellent too, but it's Pike who floors you. She is really stunning and just sublime. I rarely find fault in Fincher, he's one of my favourite directors, and this time is no different. He is restrained for him, but its spot on direction for what is a dark, smart and stylish story. The nearly three hours flew by. Definitely up there with the best films of the year IMO. Highly recommended.

It's great, isn't it Loz? I'd like to see it again (in cinemas I mean).

Philomena -- really liked this. Such a crazy story. Frozen -- not what it was hyped up to be! Though I did like the snowman. Divergent -- OK story. Nothing super special. Enough Said -- Really cute story.

Saw Interstellar today. Interesting film all round. I didn't look at my watch until 2.5 hours in so I think that says something.... It looks incredible. Sounds fantastic. It's a good piece of storytelling and Nolan doesn't disappoint direction wise. There is some great work by the cast, most especially McConaughy and Chastain. I still kind of want to punch Hathaway. Something about her annoys me greatly, but she is fine in the role. Definitely keen to see it again on BR.

Horns. DanRad did a good job, although I think it lost a bit of momentum towards the end.

Interstellar Big Hero Six Mockingjay tomorrow. Good movie but it was too predictable for my liking. After Inception and The Prestige, I expected more of a twist. Not his best.

Mockingjay.
Slow as expected so not the best in the franchise. But I wasn't bored with it so that's saying something. Heh. The ending was great even though I wasn't expecting the movie to end at that point.
And I seriously have to wait ONE YEAR for the next one?! WHAT!!

The Theory of Everything - Lovely, very sweet, quite sad. Eddie Redmayne was amazing. Potential Oscar nom there. The Skeleton Twins - Quirky and quite funny at time. Always love a good SNL pairing. Nightcrawler - Er wtf Jake Gyllenhaal!? He was brilliant. Incredibly interesting speech pattern. St. Vincent - Really enjoyed this. Nice to see Melissa McCarthy in a dramatic role that wasn't about her size. The Maze Runner - Liked this more than I thought I would. Although not sure what the point of Effie from Skins was... Snowpiercer - Good concept, bit too long. Mockingjay Part 1 - Excellent. Possibly the best so far.

The Hobbit 3 - Overall, a fun movie but disappointing in the scheme of things. The Hobbit did NOT need to be a trilogy. Tauriel and Kili's relationship was pointless (and made up). Some CGI was disappointing. Dain didn't need to be CGI and same with the big bad. Watching LotR now and the orcs look way scarier as costumed actors as opposed to CGI. The film speed was kind of annoying as well. But I still enjoyed it overall.

Has anyone seen Into the Woods yet? I don't like musicals but I'm tempted to watch it 'cause of the cast. Very keen on watching Birdman though.

Life Itself - a very touching documentary about the life/work of Roger Ebert. Uncle Buck - I feel like I probably saw this as a child. Funny film though. Guardians of the Galaxy - I think I missed the hype of this. Shame, because Chris Pratt is great. Miracle on 34th Street - A classic remake. Love how they lit everyone from behind - really added that Chrismassy warmth. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids - Don't think I've seen this in forever! A classic. Diana - Terrible. Christmas with the Kranks - See above. First Position - A very interesting documentary about young ballet dancers. I’ll Be Home for Christmas - 9-year-old me would be very disappointed that 26-year-old me did not think this film held up. At all. Elf - Bye Buddy! Hope you find your dad! Happy Christmas - Dumb. All I Want For Christmas - Sweet Christmas film. Scrooged - A total classic.
Thanks to my letterboxd account for remembering this...

Watched Boyhood last night. It was pretty interesting and the acting was good (mostly by PA and EH ... the kids were OK). The BTS stuff was more interesting than the actual movie though. Crazy to think those kids grew up for 12 years shooting a movie every year.
