Has anyone seen Into the Woods yet? I don't like musicals but I'm tempted to watch it 'cause of the cast. Very keen on watching Birdman though. Saw Into the Woods today. It was enjoyable enough but not in a big rush to see it again. Very obviously taken from broadway with the songs.

Chris Pine was the best part about it IMO.

Nah, Meryl Streep was fantastic. Chris Pine's hair distracted me

Meryl is Meryl. I love her and never expect her to be any less than perfect Chris was highly amusing. "Agony" was the best part of the entire film IMO.

At the moment, I think I'm more keen on seeing Birdman (my type of movie actually) than Into the Woods. Heh.

Whiplash - J.K Simmons and Miles Teller both great.

Maleficent - LOVED IT! Though not sure why this "good" fairy was born with such an evil name. Angriest Man in Brooklyn - Terrible dialogue but decent story. Sad to see Robin Williams as a suicidal character. Guardians of the Galaxy - Loved it Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Too long but decent Frank - Soooo good. Watch it! Tammy - eh, it was OK.

The Imitation Game - Fabulous. I've studied the Enigma machine and what went down at Bletchley Park, I know the history, and yet I was enthralled with this film. I know it worked, I know they cracked it, but bloody hell I was on the edge of my seat with their take on it (which I don't think is entirely accurate, but I can't say I care much). BC is fricking superb. Turing is a tough character, he could easily be very unlikable, but not in the hands of Benedict. He makes him real and layered and you so feel for him. You like him and want to fight for him, especially knowing what happened to him. Keira, Leech, Strong and my growing crush Matthew Goode are all great too. Highly recommended!!

I want to see that so bad!
Watched The Skeleton Twins with Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. It was really good and they were both awesome (dramatically and comical).

Saw The Hobbit - Whatever the third one is called today. I should have watched number II again because I couldn't remember what was going on and who some people were Seriously, after what, 7 hours of film I couldn't tell you the dwarves names. I just thought of them as "Fat Dwarf", "Real Old Wise Dwarf", "James Nesbitt Dwarf", "Hot Dwarf 1", "Hot Dwarf 2 who loves the made up elf chick" etc. And Thorin, I didn't forget Thorin. But they say his name 142 times in the film i'm fairly sure. I wasn't bored this time so that is a big improvement. And I have to say Freeman is very good. As is Armitage. Will buy them one day, watch them all again at once.

The Water Diviner was on the agenda today. Really enjoyed it. Impressive directorial debut by Russell in my opinion (but i am a little biased because I am a big fan of his ). Its extremely well acted all round (Russ spot on as usual, Jai really is cool, Olga is lovely and I actually liked the little kid! ) and looks beautiful. Its a moving story and some of the war stuff is painful to watch. So much suffering 100 years ago this very year on the shores of Gallipoli I like that for once they looked at the Turkish side of things as well. They were not the 'big bad'. As one said, "You invaded us". Will be buying on BRD for sure. Almost had "The Dream" in the cinema too, was just Lyn and I until the last preview rolled and in rocked a couple! Damn it!!

At least he finally ran out of fricking arrows. I was under the impression his elvish holder is why he never ran out of arrows. I thought I read that somewhere...

I don't know! I was confused by that. How to Train Your Dragon 2. Much better than expected. Kind of difficult to watch at times. Not sure how kids can watch it!
