Not true. I've got the second printing in my hand right now. They didn't follow their own patter though. The second printing of two should have been done the same way they did the second printing of 1. But instead, it matches the third printing. It makes my collection look wonky when it's spread out.

Oh, okay. Was it released this week? If so, that would account for my not having seen it yet (since new comics hit here on Fridays).
It's disappointing when there's no symmetry. That said, I'd heard that they were going to do a completely different cover. Guess that was wrong, too.

It's due on June 6 in the US, so probably June 8 here. #5's due on August 1 in the US.

Buffy season 8 stuff in September:
Not technically season 8, but it could still be cool:

Okay, let's discuss the plot. What do you think about Slayers vs Humans? What do you think about the retcons concerning Willow's character? What do you think about Giles' role? What do you think about Alfa Slayers: Leah, Satsu, and Rowena? What do you think about Xander/Renee? What do you think about Buffy's dreamspace? What do you think about Ethan's death? Why do you think Dawn thinks of Willow as her mom? Why do you think Xander hates being called a watcher? Why do you think Buffy dreams about having threesome with Spike and Angel?

Who wouldn't dream of having threesomes with them? Ethan dying was a shock, but it makes sense he would have been killed. Will be interesting to see Giles reaction, will he care? I think the whole Slayers v Humans idea is bad. It makes no sense, of course there will be rogue slayers all over the world, why would the government then be silly enough to think Buffy herself is the problem? I addressed the Dawn/Willow thing in the other post

Beck, you're a big Heroes fan, so I'll point you to the "five years later" episode of that. Thematically, I find Buffy season 8 very similar to that episode. Humans naturally fear those who are different to them. Now, add an extra level of power to that, and the fear will increase rapidly. And people will react negatively.

Thanks for those links, Farah (did I finally spell it right?). I think that will really help me catch up on what's happened before the next issue comes out.
As to Beck's question about the government going after Buffy. We haven't seen anything that would suggest to them otherwise. Yes, there are many more Slayers now and they're spread all over the world, but I can imagine that it's Buffy's name who's still being thrown around. So to me, at least, it seems only natural that they would see her as the person in charge and the larger threat. The theory is that if they can contain her, the terrorist organization, as they see it, will crumble.

Yeah, that's exactly it. At the very least, Buffy would be seen as a figurehead. And if there are any records from the Initiative days, then Buffy's name would already be on their minds.

I'm going to try to catch up by reading the transcripts, but I can honestly say I'm not all that interested, sadly. It just really doesn't appeal that much to me.

Really Amber? I get that the format is a lot different, but its still officially Joss' ideas for where the characters are going.

It's obviously going to have a different view because of the format, but also the characters have changed since we've seen them. And plus they're outside of Sunnydale which might take a while to get used to. But I'd still give it a chance.

Yeah, it is a very different beast to the TV series. Things have changed. And to me, that's far better than trying to repeat what's been done. And it is a slightly different format.

I wouldn't have read the comics if it weren't for Joss writing it. If it was someone else, I would have give it a pass. I'm still trying to get use to the format though.

Does that mean you won't read the second arc, by Brian K Vaughan?

If it affects how season 8 turns out, I'll read. Cause I'll know it's canon. Guess I should say that I won't read the comics if it weren't canon.

That's fair enough. I think the canon is a big deal for a lot of people - it's really outselling all previous Buffy comics.
