My shop is only charging an extra buck for the variants, which is a knock down rate when you consider that they're already bagged and bored it, which is 33 cents as it is. So it's really only a mark up of about 67 cents.

Actually, that's not too steep at all. Going by most of the shops in Australia, they'd be looking at double (they rip people off). My local shop's charging no extra, instead the owner gives them to people he knows and likes basically.

they charge me the same price for the variants at the shop i go to, £2.15 the variants always seem to be the last to go, my friend works in the shop and she says that people seem to preffer the regular covers

Yeah, I have to agree that the Jo Chen covers are a bit more striking.

Wanna know what really hurts? My shop just got these huge lithographs of the Jo Chen cover for issue one, autographed by Chen for 30 bucks. And then two others...autographed by Chen and Joss...for 75... *wants it so bad can hardly stand it*

How big are the lithographs?

Because those prices are more than reasonable.

Yeah, it's kind of eery and disturbing. It makes you wonder what the story is about. It's definitely an attention grabber.

I think that's my favourite cover at the moment. It's so cool but freaky at the same time.

Not a fan of the variant covers though.

I don't mind the variants (I quite like the Georges Jeanty (second) one), though I like the standard cover more.

I like both of those much better than the other variants that have come out. The others have been okay, but nothing special. Those two look great though.

The imag ins't working, though the cover has been shown (in a decent size) on the first page of this thread.

Also, with the solicitation text for #5 (in the season 8 thread), the cover imaqe makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, I love both covers. And the standard one for #6, too. I'll be grabbing the trade paperbacks in addition to the regular issues, because I'm sad. That, and it feels like buying the DVDs for the TV series.

I can't remember off the top of my head, and my net connection's running slowly, so it will be a pain to check. I think it's October sometime, but I could be wrong - that said, I'm pretty sure the date is in the standard "Season 8" thread.
