Saw the first ep last night and I'm hooked! Never thought a zombie type of show would work as a TV series but it did quite well going by the first ep.
Anyone seen/heard of it?
Sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes wakes up in the hospital after having been shot while on duty and discovers that while he was in the hospital, something has happened which causes the bodies of the dead to reanimate and attack the living. The town he lived in is mostly abandoned, with many dead roaming the streets at night. Believing that his wife, Lori, and son, Carl, have most likely fled to safety in nearby Atlanta, he grabs a stock of weapons from the locker of his police station, and sets out to find them.

Yep! ;D I'm definitely watching it. The first two episodes have aired and they are both awesome. I haven't read the comics, but the guy who wrote them is involved in the show and many fans says it stays true to the graphic novel. Either way, I love it so far and will definitely watch it every week!

Never read the comics either. I didn't know it was based on the comics until I read up on it after watching the first ep. At first, I thought it was based on a movie as the name sounds familiar.
It reminds me a lot of 28 Days Later though.

Yeah I thought that when he woke up in the hospital bed, but that's really the only thing (other than the zombies lol).

The show has been renewed for a second season - just after 2 episodes! That's awesome.

Saw ep 2 last night. I cannot believe they left that guy on the roof! Granted he deserved it but I really thought one of them will go back for him. I hope they catch up with Glenn. Him being alone in that loud car isn't going to help him in the future.

Well he went back for him but dropped the key! So at least they didn't just leave him there out of spite. I've seen the first three episodes, but I'll wait to discuss the newest one until you've seen it!

That's true. But I thought he would try to use the hacksaw to get him out. At least he locked the door behind him. Watching the third ep tonight.

Ep 3 Enjoyed this episode a lot more than ep 2. Why is it that most of the men are turning into savages?! I'm glad Lori turned her back on Shane. I kinda expected her to continue seeing him behind her husband's back. Like her more that she didn't. Btw, are we told how this group of people met each other? Haaaate how the ep ended!

Nope we were never told, I don't think. I have a feeling Lori will probably mess around with Shane more or her husband will find out about them and drama will ensue!

Yeah, I doubt this good thing will last! I wouldn't be surprise if Shane and Rick gets into a fight and Shane would tell him everything or, like you said, Lori would fall into temptation and mess around with Shane and Rick catches them. I now want to know what happened to the guy on the roof without a hand!!

Ep 4! Damn! What an ending! Certainly didn't expect the Walkers to tear through the camp like that. I was expecting a showdown between Merl and the rest.
Intesting story about the old people. I never really thought about what happened to them.

Well i thought after I saw this thread I should check it out. Watched two so far and have got the other four. I'm no zombie lover but it not bad at all I do like me some Andrew action too. Ever since the This Life days. Will read the spoilers and comment after I get through the others. Need to sleep right now.

Bre: Loved the finale! Though I didn't get why the doc said he couldn't open the doors and then he could at the last min. Maybe I missed something there. :-\ Don't like the doc at all! I hate how selfish he is. Just because he didn't want to die in the hands of the Walkers, doesn't mean everyone wanted to. He annoyed me a lot during those last few moments of the episode. I wonder where the group would head to now. Maybe they'll meet one of those last standing French scientists or something.

Yeah Loz I'm not a huge zombie fan other than 28 Days Later, but I do enjoy this series. Irene, I think the doc could open the door whenever, except that when time was running out, the system must have locked it or something. I don't know. He was a bit insane. I didn't understand why that lady stayed with him at the end. I would have at least tried to escape even if I thought it was pointless.

Me too! I mean, I understand why she preferred to die in a bomb blast than being turned into a Walker but the chances of that happening isn't very high when she's with the rest! I don't see it as a certain death on the run unliked being trap in the building.
