Since there are chat threads for movies and music, I think we should have one for books. ;D I was a bit disappointed by Insatiable Liz! Did you know that there's going to be a second book?! I didn't! Just reserved it from the library and I'm looking forward in reading it.

I have far too many books that I need to read here at home. One day I'll get to them

I've got a few on my list too! The Silenced by Brett Battles Overbite by Meg Cabot City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare The Host by Stephanie Meyer (rereading this as I didn't finish it the first time round) Am reading A Game of Thornes at the moment. I'm bored with it. Nothing happens!

How far through Game of Thrones are you, Nico? I'm almost done with it and I can't get into the story. I going to watch the show and see if I change my mind.

I am almost at the end, I like the show but I am also enjoying the book although the longest books/series I have ever read and a wee tad daunting but still very very good.

I finished it last night and I actually enjoyed the ending! The last few chapters were much more interesting than the rest of the book. I gonna start the show tonight and if it still holds my interest, I might start on the second book.

^^ Oh I gave up on Game of Thrones. But I just finished Across the Universe by Beth Revis and I enjoyed it a lot. I didn't realised that it was a trilogy until I looked it up - which was a relief actually as I couldn't believe it would just end like that.

Nico, you've read The Forest of Hands and Teeth right? How did you find it? I finished it last night and I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It was hard to like any of the characters. Something about the main character bothered me. Would still read the second book though as I read that it's set some time into the future and with a different set of characters.

Nico, you've read The Forest of Hands and Teeth right? How did you find it? Quite easily (Sorry I had to use that lame line ) It wasn't bad. I thought it was darker than alot of the books I usually read, a bit Gorey and more like a Horror book. I like when books have a different civilization set up and this one definitely was that. I also liked the religion in the book and the honest to god ending . Wouldn't read it again though. What did you think? did you enjoy it?

I didn't really like it. The lead female annoyed me so much throughout the book! But I have the second and third book from the library so I'll continue reading it and see if it improves. But I got to give the writer props for killing off the romantic lead! Didn't see that one coming at all.

She was a Debbie downer! You couldn't really feel anything for her because she was depressed and unhappy enough for us all!

There's 3 altogether. Not sure if there's a 4th.
I'm almost done with the 2nd book. Much better than the first I think. Though the lead female annoys me. But probably not as much as the lead from the first book. It's interesting how the sequel is written though as it's set years down in the future with a whole new set of characters. Gives you a whole new point of view and a completely different story.
I've got the third book with me as well.

I just finished Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater last night and I absolutely loved it. It was wonderfully written and the story is so sad and beautiful. Sam is probably the saddest character I have ever read. My heart breaks whenever I read his POV. Cried a few times towards the end. Haven't cried over a book in a long while! I loved it so much that as soon as I was done with it, I went online and bought the second. Will buy the third and the first one when I get my pay this week. ;D

I've been trying to get friends to read it too...

Haven't gotten round in reading the sequel yet. It's on my to-read list. I just need to wait for my next pay so I can get my next lot of books. There's going to be a third one right?

Yup, there is.
What did you think about Bumped? I love the Jessica Darling books, but I just couldn't get into Bumped.

I loved Bumped. I liked her style of writing. Very funny. Reminds me a little of Cabot actually. Was pretty much laughing through the book. The story itself is a little weird but I enjoyed it mostly because of the writing. Haven't read the Jessica Darling books though. They sound too young for me.
