Apparently the original cut was 3 hrs long, and they're putting the extra half hour that was left out of the theatrical release on the DVD. ;D

I can't wait for the DVD and whatever bonus features there are. I'll watch every single commentary, deleted scene, everything. I am obsessed with this movie lol... I've seen it twice and I want to go see it again. I'll wait till TDR before I decide whether this is the best movie of the year. Apparently the original cut was 3 hrs long, and they're putting the extra half hour that was left out of the theatrical release on the DVD. ;D Sweet! I hope the NZ DVD won't leave out any of the extras. They tend to do that for some DVDs.

Watched it again this afternoon - only one in the theater! Anyway, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but I wouldn't be surprise if Fury lied about Coulson's death.

Well, there was heaps of talk about that on the folder at work. Shaun might be able to be more accurate than me, but apparently in Avengers land there is a humanoid robot that bleeds etc. And the theory is that Coulson sent one in specifically to get Loki to kill it and get the team to unite.

General rule with comics - if you don't see the dead body, never assume they are dead. There are several ways Coulson could come back, either alive or as someone or something else entirely.

Well he looked like he did die on screen I still think he is dead.

I don't think he's gone completely. I do like the humanoid theory. Because it did seem a bit WTF for him to be going it alone against Loki. Even with his special gun!

Agreed! He's smarter than that surely. I think it was Fury's plan all along.

There are rumours going around online that the director's cut will be hitting theaters. But they are just rumours.

Think you will be shit out of luck there Irene. It was my understanding that the DVD has a Joss commentary and maybe a featurette. You might have to get the bluray for all the extras.
