I know I've mentioned this and its sequel in other threads, but I thought I would start its own thread so I can tell you more about what it is, and also say that there's a third one out. So far, the series is...
Twilight New Moon Eclipse
Stephenie Meyer (the author) is working on a fourth one, called Breaking Dawn, as I type. The synopsis (from Amazon) for Twilight is:
Who here has read it? And is anyone interested reading it if they haven't?

Ok this seems to be the new trend, so who has read it? I am curious because people around me are so obsessed so might get my hands on a copy of the first one

I'm interested in it, and I plan on buying it today actually! Robert Pattinson (hawt) is going to be in the movie!

I've read it and I'm still scratching my head as to why everyone is so obessesed with it. It's a good read but not the best thing I've read. I have a few problems with some of the characters but the plot is pretty interesting. I'm looking for the second book at the moment (I only see the first and third around ). My opinion might change after reading the other two but at the moment, I don't see what's so great about it. Btw, there's a book call Host (either coming out or is already out) by the same author and I was wondering whether it's part of this series. Anyone know?

Agreed Irene. I'll copy directly from my LJ -
I liked it. But I don't see what the huge fuss is about to be honest. There are much, much better written books and stories. I like a romance story as much as the next but it was too over the top too fast for me. And this is from someone who adores Vampire books of any kind. And while I liked Edward and Bella, I found Alice to be much more interesting and I hope she's focussed on more in the later books. I'll read them I think, but I am hoping they will be a little less OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH throughout :/

I think I am too cynical to like it that much

Heh.
What a huge compliment that would be to be cast as Edward though.

Why? Most leads are supposed to be gorgeous etc :dunno: I'll have a look for the second book today but I am hoping its better than the first one. I'll see the movie because I didnt mind the book but I didn't love it. There are better romance stories, and better vampire stories. Ah well.

No, but Edward is just described so often as being so perfect. Chapter 1 of Midnight Sun, Twilight from Edward's perspective. Interesting! I'd like to read the rest. Stephenie Meyer's website has more pictures from the movie.

Yep totally agree. I like the story but its not well written. Have read all three now, the last one was the best one but got to say I've gone WAY off Jacob.

I'm half-way through the third one, and yeah, I don't like Jacob either. He really annoys me and I prefer reading bout the Cullen's. backstories

I don't not like Jacob but I am glad she loves Edward better. I really don't like Charlie and the way he treats Jacob during the broken hand scene. I wanna see some Edward/Jacob smack down, that would teach the bratty werewolf!

Yeah Charlie annoys me!
What is Bella going to do with her parents when she becomes a vampire? Tell them? That would be an interesting conversation...

Charlie is a typical father. And look how Bella was once Edward left, why on earth would he like him after that? He doesn't know why Edward left, only that he broke Bella for a long time. Jacob helped her get better - its natural Charlie thinks he is better for Bella. However the way Jacob forced himself on her TWICE makes me dislike him. He thinks only of what makes HIM happy and what HE thinks would be best for Bella. Edward has the years or life to be more mature and wants what makes her happy - thats why I like him more. I actually think Bella should become a vampire, she's never going to have a safe and happy life with either Jacob or Edward and its the life she has chosen so it makes sense she should become one. Jacob sees that as her becoming dead but its not really and having seen how the Cullens are a loving and genuine nice family he should know that.

Yeah the Cullens are so nice, Alice especially. What does everyone think about the casting for them? There's some info here. Grey's Anatomy lady isn't really Esme to me, but meh, I'm sure she'll be fine. Jasper is quite attractive, and Carlisle looks good!

I didn't know Elizabeth Reaser was part of the cast. She looks a little out of place to me. I'm still a bit iffy about the guy playing Edward. There's something about him that doesn't exactly scream Edward to me.

RPattz is a perfect Edward imo. I hope his accent is good though.

Is this the path I chose, or the one chosen for me?

This series sounds kind of like a book/series I read called (I think) "Midnight Blue". Can anybody comment on that?
