I've seen Asta 'advertised' on BW but never got round to reading it before now... up to ep three, i shall try to continue before long: loving it! Glad to know my 'advertisement' is not being ignored! Would love to hear what you think about ASTA (so does Beck, I'm sure) so do pen your thoughts here on the series once you've gotten round reading the eps. Thanks for reading!

Episode 1.06 - The Story of Us
I really got into this episode. I loved all the backstory and the focus on Pike and Tabitha. This is definitely the best episode yet (even if I did find the very end a little sappy lol ) and I can't wait to read the next one!

Sappy? I like to think of it as touching! Tabitha and Pike are my favourite characters and I love their relationship with each other. This season will not focus too much on them but I hope to shift the focus towards them in season 2. I'm glad you liked the episode. I actually had a hard time writing this episode. I kept deleting and rewriting it because I was never satisfied with it. I'm still not satisfied with it actually.

Well, it was certainly touching. I just think the very last little bit between Pike and Tabitha bordered on sappy. But everyone's sap levels differ.

When she was writing it, even once it was complete she kept saying she wasn't happy with it, but it was always one of my favourites too

Hey, I've just managed to read the first two eps! Episode 1 - Back to BasicsI really like it. The new characters you've introduced are great, and feel as though they fit in well with - and belong in - the Jossverse. The returning characters were also handled nicely - it's nice to see them again, and it feels like they've grown up slightly since we last saw them. But why can't Xander be a Watcher? The builds mystery nicely, and has me intrigued. Episode 2 - Here We GoI realy like this too. Oliver and Tabitha are explored well, and makes you wonder how they'll be playing into later episodes (I'm guessing episode 3). The chemistry between Asta and Xander is great, but I hope they don't get together too soon - but I'd like to see it eventually. And Joseph Zoor really looks like he'll be a great villain. I have to say, these two episodes have gotten me in. I'll definitely be waiting to catch up with the rest of them.

When she was writing it, even once it was complete she kept saying she wasn't happy with it, but it was always one of my favourites too For some reason, I'm always never satisfied with an ep. Hey, I've just managed to read the first two eps! Yay! Another reader! Thanks Allan for reading. The more the merrier I always say. ;D I thought of having Xander being a Watcher but I didn't think it would be something he would do. Between Andrew and Xander, Andrew made more sense in being a Watcher. Yes in ep 3...and beyond. More of Oliver and Tabitha's story will be reveal in the later eps as well so do continue to read. Oliver fighting demons with his sister would make sense when you find out who he really is (if you haven't figured out already) in ep 3. Oh don't worry. Asta and Xander will not get together anytime soon. Just ask Beck and Farah. They are waiting for ages for them to get together! They are probably on the verge of poking me with sharp objects with the torture I'm giving them. That's great to hear! Thanks for the feedback, Allan, and I love to hear what you think about the rest of the eps. Hmm...more readers. That means I should start working on Ep 19 already instead of putting it off!!

I'll definitely get to the rest of the episode. Slowly but surely.
I agree with the logiv behind Xander not being a Watcher, but I just feel sorry for the guy.

Episode 1.07-Once Bitten...Certainly interesting that the two werewolves are father/son. I'm more interested, though, in the mom's reaction to all this. I never really liked David, so I can't say that I'm all too sad to see that he and Tabitha are having problems, but I imagine a bar owner would make for a good ally...? Am somewhat curious to see where that goes. I would have loved to hear what Giles said to Andrew on the other end of the line. I almost expected a scene where Xander chews him out, although I imagine that's what Giles was doing when they were on the phone, so it would be overkill if he had to hear it twice. Now you have to post more. I can't read it if I can't see it.

Am somewhat curious to see where that goes. You don't like David? Interesting. I think you're the first person who dislike him. Hmm, maybe I'm wrong. I'm not sure whether Beck likes him either. Or Farah. Guess that just shows how much opinion David gets. New ep posted. I'll try to get a new ep posted everyweek. Thanks for reading!

I don't dislike David, but he's not one of my favourite characters. That goes to Xander and Pike

Episode 1.08-PerdidoI really like that this was an Andrew and Andrew/Asta-centric episode. I liked the scene with Andrew, the demon/Warren, the visions, etc. Does anyone else want Andrew and Tabitha to get together?

Yeah. *looks sheepish now as I'm the only one* I've been rooting for them since they first made it to Hades Valley.

Nah I like the idea of Tabitha/Andrew too David's kinda a plastic boyfriend to me, he appears too accomodating for someone like Tabby who's so firey. I don't hate him, but he's the Riley of Asta to me (Not that I hate Riley anymore)

Episode 1.03
"Don’t get snippy with me, geek boy" says it all for me. An excellent read, and it really seems to be gaining momentum, and finding it's own ground.
I loved the interplay between Buffy and Pike particularly, though. Their history and common ground, yet they've drifted apart, which makes the reunion that much sweeter.
While reading the episode, I can't get the actors voices out of my head, which I think, really goes to show how well you've managed to capture the characters.

Episode 1.08-PerdidoI really like that this was an Andrew and Andrew/Asta-centric episode. I liked the scene with Andrew, the demon/Warren, the visions, etc. Does anyone else want Andrew and Tabitha to get together? Andrew and Tabitha eh? Well, read on to find out what happens to the two of them in the future episode. Who knows, your wish might just come true. ;D Nah I like the idea of Tabitha/Andrew too David's kinda a plastic boyfriend to me, he appears too accomodating for someone like Tabby who's so firey. I don't hate him, but he's the Riley of Asta to me (Not that I hate Riley anymore) You're quite right. David is modelled a bit after Riley. Not because I see Tabitha with a Riley type of a boyfriend. The reason why I didn't give David a great character or backstory like Pike or Tabitha is because I wanted the series to revolve around the 5 (Asta, Xander, Andrew, Pike and Tabitha) only at the moment. This season is just about introducing the characters, getting to know Asta and the gang coming together and working as a team. If there's a second season, the focus will shift to Pike and Tabitha and then the rest as the series goes on. I didn't want David being a splendid character as I don't him to take the focus away from the other characters this season. I just wanted him to be the type of character who people wouldn't be happy if he's gone but at the same time wouldn't be sad either. Because who knows, Beck and I might just pull a Joss and kill him off. Episode 1.03"Don’t get snippy with me, geek boy" says it all for me. An excellent read, and it really seems to be gaining momentum, and finding it's own ground. I loved the interplay between Buffy and Pike particularly, though. While reading the episode, I can't get the actors voices out of my head, which I think, really goes to show how well you've managed to capture the characters. It's only the third ep and already I receive such kind words from you! I'm so glad you are enjoying it, Allan.

Okay, I've finally had a chance to read episodes 4 and 5. Episode 4 - Something Evil This Way Comes:It's great stuff, and I think it's my favourite episode yet. From the teaser, and the pirate talk between Asta and Xander, I'm starting to see that these two would make a really cute couple. The banter between Xander and Andrew was also great, and with the way you've written them, they really work. Up until this episode, I hadn't really cared too much about Pike, but I really started to like and "get" him with this episode. One very minor concern, though, and that's the use of "shit". Swear words don't bother me, and it's a light one, but it's more it's use in a TV series, and the censorship that comes with most of them. With the tone of the series seems slightly out of place. But a lot of that's just me being finnicky. Episode 5 - See, Hear, SpeakI really enjoyed it. I don't think I enjoyed it quite as much as episode 4, but that's more to do with my personal enjoyment. It's really well written. I loved the use of Asta's dreams, and they build mystery and a sense of foreboding and mystery. They build towards the climax nicely - and what a great climax. It made me want to read the rest of the episodes here and now (though I'm pushing my luck with the amount of time I've spent reading your fic at work today ). Xander seems to be a little harsh on Andrew, particularly in the beginning of the episode. It doesn't do anything to ruin my enjoyment at all, but I really hope we'll soon see Andrew get "his moment". They really were two more great episodes!
