Asta 1-Back to Basics

Wow! That's really all I can say is wow!

It was very well written. I think, for as little as we saw the recurring characters, that you really captured their essence--their personality, their style of talking, etc.--very well.

I don't read much fic, admittedly, but none of what I've read has dealt with the Watcher's Council, so that was nice. I've always been interested in how fanfic writers would handle the Council.

I am absolutely in love with the new characters you've added--Asta, Oliver, Tabitha. It seems like I really know them, even though we still have a lot to learn. I love the mystery surrounding them. What is it that Asta and Willow saw? How can Asta see it? Who's that voice she keeps hearing? How did Tabitha and Oliver get into all things demon-y? Could Tabitha be the other Slayer the Seers found? And surely it's no coincidence that all three are from the same town.

I can't wait to read episode 2! This episode has the same feel of a Buffy episode. The joking, the references, the action, the mystery. Great stuff!

Oliver's Pike as in the actor who played Pike or the same exact character? I can see it playing out either way, actually. I have a theory that Oliver and Tabitha aren't in the same time frame as Asta and the others. But I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Episode 2-Here We Go
Everything I said about episode 1--just double that!

I really liked seeing more of Tabitha and Oliver. I liked getting to know Stacey a little bit more. I can see a friendship forming between her and Asta, slowly but surely. I like how Xander's the guy who solves problems, whether that's how to interact with your new Slayer or fixing a broken lamp. I think you write Andrew well, which I think would be a hard character for me. It's just great. I look forward to the next episode.

Oh, and did I tell you I have a theory that the vampire Asta met on the Council compound is Spike? (My mind works faaaaarrrrrrrr too hard while I read. Maybe it's because I write myself. )

Anyway, great work, and I can't wait until tomorrow when I read episode 3!

As Beck mentioned, Oliver is Oliver Pike who is Pike in the Buffy movie (played by Luke Perry. In Asta, however, it's a different character). Ep 3 will probably make that clear.

As for the vampire. Nah, that's not Spike. Beck and I agreed that we'll not bring Spike or Angel into this series as I dislike Spike and Beck loves him. It's hard to bring him in when we have different opinions on him. If I bring him in, I'll probably kill him for the fun of it and Beck will be on my back about it. ;D And also, I feel that Spike has ended his story and I'm against VS writers bringing him into their VS. I rather bring in a new character and tell their story than retell Spike's.

I think the reason why that vampire made you think about Spike is because I think of all British characters like him. I suck at writing British characters

Well, now I can't wait until episode 3 as you've just confused me about the whole Pike thing. I'll have to save that until tomorrow or possibly Friday, though, when I have more time. (And I was hoping for an episode a day until I caught up on Asta and SS. Oh, well.)

Well, I'm sure that you not only write all British vampires the same, but that I think of them as all the same--except Giles as he's rather distinctive in my mind. So, no worries. It just seemed Spike-y. I can certainly appreciate your reasons for not bringing him in, though.

I'm looking forward to episodes 3 and 4 and can't wait for you to write more, although I appreciate the time that writing involves.

I'll read ep 3 as soon as I can and be back with more thoughts.

I've written quite a fair bit actually (I'm now grinding out ep 19) so all that's left is me posting it up.

I'm trying to post one ep a day but RL is giving me no chance of that. Hopefully I can post the eps up regularly. I know how frustrating it is to wait for an ep to come out. ;D

Asta 1.03-Slayer, The

Very well written as always. I didn't find myself getting into the episode as a whole as much as with the first two until the end when Asta and Matthias had their almost-heart-to-heart talk, but it was very good and, as always, left me just intrigued enough to be heartbroken that I can't read the next episode right away.

I see what you were saying about Pike being Pike now. I don't know why that didn't make sense before. My whole time theory seems so silly now. I liked you bringing him back and having that connection and I look forward to seeing more of him. I'm really liking his sister, too--and stand by my first theory about her, at least until I read the next episode and am proven wrong.

I'm absolutely loving the Xander/Asta interaction. I think I started semi-shipping them in the last episode, but I'm hard core now. (But I don't want to know what happens, as that would spoil the whole shipping process for me. )

I'm certainly more intrigued about Asta and her past now, and would really love to know what she had started telling Xander about not wanting to come back to Hades Valley, but then clammed up. So, certainly interested to find out more there.

I have other theories and ideas, but I won't take the time to write them all here, so that means you're doing a great job. I'm really involved in the characters and wanting to know what happens and try to guess. So, great work as always!!

Asta 1.04-Something Evil This Way Comes

I absolutely loved the first scene with Andrew and Asta!! I can't begin to imagine what happened "the last time." And I'm sensing some Andrew/Tabitha? Or maybe it's just my ship-happy mind.

Very action-packed, well-written again as always. I found the Andrew/Xander scene a bit odd, though. I don't know that it seemed out of character, as they'd gotten into "fights" like that before, it just seemed a bit off. Maybe it's just me.

I'm very happy that Pike is still alive, as it seemed you were setting him up for his death.

Very curious as to what the man in the black suit was doing in the monastery and what kinds of evil-y goodness the demon he conjured will be up to, so I'm looking forward to the next episode!

Oh, good. We can be Xasta shippers together! I'm really loving them and their interaction and chemistry. I'm loving it. This is my first totally fan-fic (never before seen on-screen) ship. I don't know how I feel about that.

Episode 1.05-See, Hear, Speak

I really enjoyed it! I knew almost immediately that Ahrwian (or however you spell it--the man dressed in black) and Ashley were the same person, but it certainly didn't cut down on the suspense and action!

I think the only negative thing I have to say is that this episode had the most grammar and spelling mistakes in it so far (but no worries, you still write very well and it's certainly nowhere near enough to keep me from reading).

There shouldn't be spelling mistakes I know Irene and I both spell check it! Thats odd Grammar is my fault not Irene's because my grammar tends to be fairly relaxed.

Will try to get ep 6 up. That one has a lot of backstory for Pike and Tabitha.

I spell check AND manually spell check! And I know you must cause spelling errors are rare! So I don't know how that could have happened :dunno:
