Season three's been great so far, and everything is coming together. While I don't think it's quite up there with the best of SGA yet, it's getting to the point where I'm getting what I want from it. I've seen up to "Pretense" - and I loved that episode. It's basically a courtroom drama for the custody of Skaara's body. And I read this interview with Joe Mallozzi about SGA season 5. It's quite interesting, though does feature some mild spoilers about what's coming up in the season. In it, he also talks about what makes Woolsey a great character for the show. Quite interesting stuff.

After watching the last episode we were wondering if the Alien race will be brought into our SGA universe, the ones that self destruct, Atlantis needs some new additions I hope the Alien races they are adding will be Enemies. "Whispers" sounds great, from what I read in the interview, I remember you saying this season looks to be darker than previous ones, I think it has already started on that premise and reading about future episodes truly cant wait. Glad they are bringing in some chicks, don't get me wrong, I love the Atlantis males! but they need some ladies that they can hang out with. Plus, it is like with Lorne, he is a recurring character who we dont see constantly, but he always pops up, and I love his character I love seeing him on screen. I knew Daniel Jackson was off to Atlantis this season, cant wait for that episode, he wanted to go over to Atlantis but Jack said no because he needed him there, on his SG1 team, so it makes absolute sense he will finally be there, I have missed him, and I'm sure he will shed alot of light on alot of difefrent topics. Cut from Synopis of next episode... Desperate to gain entry, Sheppard orders the door be blown apart; however, just as they are about to, the door opens to reveal a friendly face. Any idea who it is? I wish o' wish it was Weir but theres no doubt little chance of that

From the interview, it looks like we'll definitely see those aliens again, as well as some new ones. They can't all be friendly. And I'm hoping they do bring back those aliens. This quote makes me think we will: I'm really looking forward to "Whispers" and have been since Paul McGillion mentioned it at GenCon. It definitely has potential to be a great episode. The show definitely needs more female characters (maybe that's why they decided to replace Carson?), especially after we lost Weir and then Carter. Teyla's become boring, and Keller isn't used that much. They killed off Heightmeyer, and I was hoping we'd get more episodes with Lt Cadman, but we never did. It will be cool to see Daniel Jackson appear, and for two episodes, too. Looking forward to it. Re the synopsis: It would be very cool to see Weir return, though I'm not sure if she can automatically be considered a "friendly face", given her link with the Replicators. Still, it would be awesome, if not likely. I'd also like to see it be Ford (especially after his cameo at the beginning of season four), though again, I don't know if we'd call him "friendly". Or, it could possibly be Teal'c. Paul McGillion and David Nykl mentioned he may appear in season five (though, the impression I got was it would be with Daniel, though I could be wrong), so it could possibly be him. Or it could be someone out of left field, like the alternate universe Rodney or something. I've only got four more episodes of SG-1 season three to go now. The last episode I saw was "Shades of Grey", which while predictable, was still great. I'm trying to think about whether I've hated a season three episode at all...

I really dislike they way Teyla is being written right now, I suppose it can't be helped she is a mother now but damn I miss season 1 & 2 Teyla, I also dislike her boyfriend (?) what the hell is her relationship to the babys father . Cant wait until you see 'Window of Oppertunity' Allan, it was given the highest ranking of all Stargate episodes on quite a few sites. please don't be lucious! I saw Continuum, meant to mention that, ALOT better than 'ark of truth' it was alot better than what I expected, the storylines, the way it was written some great scenes involving the Stargate to.

I think the Teyla thing could be avoided - granted, she's a mother now, but it doesn't mean she has to be a whiner. Who knows what the relationship between her and the baby's father is, and he's just annoying. Hopefully they'll either do something with it, or kill him. What season is "Window of Opportunity" on? It's definitely not season three (since I'm on the last disc). Sounds like something to look forward to. LOL at Lucius. I would like to see him show up at some point, though. He would be anticlimactic as a big reveal, though. I'm yet to see Ark of Truth but really loved Continuum. I liked that I could follow it without having seen much of SG-1, and it was really funny. It had some great character moments, as well as some great Stargate scenes. Hopefully they'll do more movies.

I think the babys dad was just kept in the show to provide a babysitter for the kid . oh, season 4 is window of oppertunity, second disc I think. Season 4 dips it's toes into the Sam/Jack relationship, and although we see glimpses throughout all of the season, season 9 really wraps it up, but I love season 4, so many great episodes.

Yeah, I definitely agree about the baby's dad. And I've already noticed season four playing with the idea of Jack and Sam a little. Actually, from the final episode of season three. While it was cool to see them introduce the Replicators in the season three finale, it kind of disappointed me because the episode didn't build from anything throughout the season. I started watching season four today too, and have seen up to "Upgrades". So far, it's been enjoyable, but hasn't blown me away (though, that's pretty much the case with all SG-1/SGA seasons ). But I will ask this: What's up with Tial'c's peroxide soul patch? Also, while I think after three seasons, it was time to change the opening credits, they could have done a bit more than use the ones from the pilot. Also, what's the deal with the Stargate? If you try to enter from the arrival point, it disintigrates you, doesn't it? If that's the case, then in "New Ground", why didn't the guy lose his fingers after dipping them in? And I watched SGA's "Ghost in the Machine" tonight: You called it Nico, it was Weir! Kind of, at least. My guess is they couldn't get Torri Higginson back, and needed to address the Weir thing. The episode was enjoyable, but it really felt to me that they were scrambling to close her story with what they had. Still, we've seen Replicators survive in the vacuum of space before. Theoretically, if Torri does decide she wants to return, they can have Weir/FRAN make her way to a planet and build Weir a new Weir-like body. Oh, and the ad for next week's looks cool. Jeannie's back and Rodney's sick. There's a really sad look on Keller's face, so hopefully we'll get more about her feelings for Rodney.

I don't care what the logic is, I just like my shows to adhere to their logic! "Upgrades" didn't do much for the larger story for me (the episode itself, see below), but it did have some great moments in it. The fight scene was great, but so was the team just talking about how hungry they were, and then ordering the steaks. I watched "Divide and Conquer" tonight and thought it was great. I was expecting that Sam and Jack weren't the assassins, but my reasoning was way off. The episode kept throwing back to "Upgrades" and I was thinking it was because their brains were scattered, given the weapons basically made them high. I loved that Jack was willing to undergo the scary Tok'ra surgery to save Sam, and thought it was a perfect moment for their relationship. When they revealed that they were lying about what happened, because they care for each other, it really was heartbreaking. I also watched "Crossroads". It was fairly predictable, but still cool. You've gotta love Teal'c - he has t be my favourite character. When he smiles, he's so goofy, but at the end of the episode where he stares down the Goa'uld, he's pretty frightening.

Mid season opening is utter crap, it lasts for a few seasons to . Divide & conquer was in my top episodes list for that reason I didnt see it coming, it wasn't to 'Shippy' either, Jack has always been willing to give his life for Sam and the rest of his team since day one. Plus I love that line "because I care for her, alot more than I should" . I cant believe you didnt mention window of oppertunity! . About SGA, yeah I guess Torri isnt wanting to return and they HAD to end her story somehow, telling us the team probably wouldn't bump into her again, I actually liked the episode the scene at the start when the jumper malfunctioned and they hit the stargate (spacegate) and it spun around then straightened itself up, that was awesome! . I hated that we saw a scene of Weir way back when the SGA team first lost her, we all knew Torri said she didnt want to return and I wonderd how long it would take to fix that. The story that she told was yawn worthy, but everything else was great. I love all episodes focusing on Jeannie/McKay I am so glad they are including her in some more, I have really liked how much closer they have become.

I cant believe you didnt mention window of oppertunity! . I didn't mention it, because I hadn't seen it yet! It was the next episode on the disc to watch. I watched it tonight, and it was enjoyable. Lots of fun in a Groundhog Day kind of way. But I don't think it's my favourite episode, I do like the ones which feed into the overarching storyline. Regardless, it was still lots of fun. Especially when Daniel gets the idea in Jack's head that he can get away with stuff, knowing that the day will just reset. I also watched "Watergate" which wasn't brilliant (though I bet they wish they'd kept the title for an SGA episode ) and "The First Ones" where Daniel made friends with the Unas. That was cool. Jack's line "Because I care for her, more than I should" summed the two of them up beautifully for me. It really makes you feel sorry for them not being able to get together (and maybe more so, knowing that as at Continuum they're still not together). That early scene with the jumper hitting the Stargate in the latest SGA was great. The effects in season five seem to be so much better than previous seasons, and that was an example of something small that just looked great. And the scene was worrying for a moment, too. The flashbacks to Weir kind of bugged me too, though I guess they were just there trying to make her story make sense. But even with them, it didn't make much sense at all. But I really think it was the writers doing their best to dig themselves out of a hole as quickly and easily as they can. I agree that the rest of the episode was enjoyable, though - even though Torri didn't return, they still managed to give Weir a decent sendoff. I really like how much closer Jeannie and McKay have become as well. It's great to have a character who can ground him, and they play off each other so well. If there was a way to write her into the series as a regular, it'd be great (not that it'd ever happen, with her being all about her family). By the look of the next episode, it looks like we'll see a little bit of touching stuff between them. And a quick look at TV.com shows that the following episode after that will be "Whispers", which I've been looking forward to for a while now. EDIT - Ooh! Checking the "Whispers" listing shows that one of the women in it is Nicole de Boer! I first became a fan of hers when I saw Cube - incidentally, the first time I also became a fan of David Hewlett.

I feel for the Writers of Atlantis, they werent getting Torri back, she wanted what they werent prepared to give her (which was a bit much in my opinion) and had to do the best with what they had and it is exactly how I would have expected her to go. Plus the little look from sheppard (who I think didnt 100% believe it was her) was quite heartbreaking. I quite like how they have to drag her from earth each time McKay screws up, and she always goes and it is great her husband is okay with it, I dont think I could take another moaney Significant other . The first episode they did together on season 3 (Mckay & Mrs Miller) I watched last night, and I love how at the end of it he hugs her and says "your happy, right?" the writing for both of them is always brilliant, and that natural brother/sister chemistry they have just makes every scene they do brilliant to watch. Plus I love seeing McKay with Maddie . Whispers looks to be great, quite creepy & eerie , and then we have a Todd episode right after, then a Keller centerd episode and then Daniel Jackson double! all of the episodes coming up have an element that I really REALLY want to see, I love all Sheppard episodes, I love when they dive into a character more (Keller) I love Todd, (in a platonic way ) .

What was Torri after? To be back on the show permanently, or a ton of money or something? The look from Sheppard was heartbreaking. I don't think he really believed it was Weir until the moment she sacrificed herself for the greater good. They were close, and with Teyla off with her boyfriend or whatever, it looks like he's got no shot at love. The Hewletts having that brother/sister chemistry's interesting, huh? You'd almost think they really were brother and sister! In all seriousness, they do play off each other brilliantly (and if you get the chance to see A Dog's Breakfast, they're both fantastic in it). I love how happy Jeannie's husband is to let her head off to Atlantis whenever she's needed. I also loved the fact that she didn't care about the security clearance, and just told him anyway. "McKay and Mrs Miller" is one of my favourite episodes. They play off each other brilliantly, it has some brilliant humour, and is really touching underneath it all. I'm really looking forward to "Whispers" and hope it doesn't disappoint. I wasn't aware that we were getting a Todd episode afterward, so I'm looking forward to that now. If only they'd figure out a way to make him a regular and part of Sheppard's team... And I'm looking forward to the Keller episode (obviously ) and the Daniel Jackson ones should be cool. It looks like the season will be quite strong - possibly the best yet?

I dont think she wanted money, but I know she wanted more scenes and wasnt happy with the way Weir was written, I am all for actors having a say in there character, makes a great partnership but trying to force writers into writing you the way they want...well not every actor makes a good writer. I like Torri and would have loved to see her permanant. Also interesting, reading Joe Malozzis blog he said that Weir didnt know she was being sent into space, she thought the team were sending them to a planet, he said having her go threw and say "its safe" made her death more poignant. I always thought she knew she was being sent to her death? was that only me? . A Wraith on the main team, imagine that every other civilisation would ostricise them! plus as Teyla likes to say "He is Wraith!" though we could take bets on who he would eat first . I want more Carson!, but yes the season is looking to be pretty good, bringing back some great characters and I always love the episodes that single out specific characters. We need more Sheppard Kirk'ness haven't had that in a while .

I think you mentioned a while back that she wasn't happy with Weir's character. I can see that actors would want what they see as best for their character (and more screentime as David Hewlett always jokes ), but there comes a point where they need to trust the writer at some point. A lot has to be said for collaboration, and maybe Torri had some valid points. But maybe she just had crap points, and the writers knew best. Ooh, do you have a link for Joe Malozzi's blog? You're not the only one who thought she willingly sacrificed herself, and I thought it was obvious that's what had happened. Sheppard's remark "Now we know she's Weir" indicated - to me - that her sacrificing herself and telling the others it was safe proved that it was. Otherwise, it seems like a pointless remark on his behalf - or it was just worded poorly, and he could have just been convinced through the episode that it's her. But the team knowingly sacrificing Weir and not telling her does lend to my theory that season five's going to get pretty dark. I didn't think about the other civilisations ostracising the Atlantis team if they have a Wraith with them. But - more often than not - having a Jaffa on the team seems to help SG-1, so you never know. Teyla does like to say "He's a Wraith!" and Ronon wants to kill him, so it would mix things up a bit. And it would be interesting to see who he'd eat first - my money's on Woolsey! I want more Carson too, and hope that come season six they bring him back as a regular again. At GenCon, Paul said that he has absolutely no idea if that's the plan (admittedly, if he knew, he probably wasn't allowed to say), but hopes they do decide to bring him back fulltime. And more Sheppard Kirkness would be great. We haven't seen it since season two? Maybe three?

From the small clips of her I have seen on behind the scenes footage (from the SG1 discs I think, the Atlantis special) she seemed like a really nice person, but who knows eh. josephmallozzi.wordpress.com/ <-- really great stuff in there. It is possible that they said it was on another script and they changed it , hmm will have to check it out again now. I could imagine Woolsey around the Wraith, I wonder if he would officially be called 'Todd' !. I just read Joseph Mallozzis blog and imagine my shock when I read this..."By now, I assume you’ve all heard the news. This will be Stargate Atlantis’s fifth and final season. I’m disappointed but not surprised." Looks like we aren't getting a season 6 Allan kind of sucks there is so much we still have to find out about Atlantis!, although I have heard talk of a SGA movie (you can read about that in Mallozzis blog) .

Torri Higginson did seem like a really nice person in all of the clips. But it is a possibility that they only show the stuff where people are in a good mod. Woolsey with Todd would be highly amusing. And I would love to see him "officially" referred to as Todd. At the very least, Sheppard would have to give him the nickname Todd to his face (or has he done that, already?). Yeah, I saw Irene's post in the Jossverse actors thread, and then his blog confirmed it for me. It really is sad news (and I feel sorry for Jewel Staite, who was saying at Sydney that with her luck, she'll be killing SGA). It seems like it was always on the back foot, with the creative focus originally being on SG-1. Hopefully this season will be a fitting farewell. Mallozzi's blog was great, mentioning that chances are we'll see an SGA movie, so that helps with the pain a little. And it looks like we'll still Stargate Universe, so that will be cool. And speaking of SGU, I was thinking how it'd be cool if it was about humans truly becoming the "fifth race" and forming a true alliance with the other four races (this may be nullified in episodes I haven't seen of SG-1 yet). A team consisting of a representative of each race would be cool. Though, I don't know how a Nox would work on the team, given their pacifist nature.

SGA episode 6 I loved this episode, John/McKay scenes were all ace, I love seeing there friendship and how close they are, David Hewlett had me almost in tears, superb acting and ofcourse that scene of them all on top of the stargate, I saw promo shots behind the scenes of that and it was better than expected, and Rodney telling Keller he loves her made me tear up, I am glad those two have finally been 'confirmed' I have more to say about the episode and what you typed but I have to dash but will elaborate later!

A team consisting of a representative of each race would be cool. Though, I don't know how a Nox would work on the team, given their pacifist nature. The four races did have an alliance, they used to meet and discuss things all the time. The Nox are too peaceful to fight, the Asgard only when they think it truly necessary - even with the Gou'ald they make the treaties with them to protect planets and only attack when the Gou'ald break those, the Ancients have ascended and no long interfere with anything on the 'lower realm' but its never been shown that they were a warring race and the Ferlings are never seen. Which is a shame imo Earth is unfortunately not exactly a naturally peaceable planet and thus we're "on our way" and not there I don't know about the idea of a team with a member of each race, for the reasons I said that wouldn't work anyway.

Thats where Atlantis comes in though, it tells you where the Ancients actually come from and that they had been in a war with the Wraith practically all there existance after they realised they could not survive against the numbers the Wraith had some ascended and some went to earth. Similiar to the Asgard in that manner (wont say to much as to not spoil anything) .
Shame we didnt see the Ferlings, I loved the whole idea of the four races. Atlantis showed us the Ancients are incredibly clever, like the episode on SG1 involving the puddle jumper where they go back in time, and the only reason they lost the war could perhaps lie in there arrogance towards there creation of the replicators.
I'm sure there are many more ancients in Stasis somewhere, but from what I have seen on them they have no interest in working beside humans (for example when they kicked the Atlantis crew out of Atlantis) .
The asgard would work beside humans, we have seen it on many occasions, and of course there is one on the Daedalus .
