LOL, Loz. I'm expecting it to not do the TV show justice! But I still intend to see it. And I thought the animated movie lost a lot of its charm now that I'm older too, sadly.

Transformers as a concept hasn't lost it's charm. I just thought the animated movie isn't as cool as I did when I was three feet tall! Btw, we may be getting an advance screening...

Has this started in your part of the world yet? It starts here on Thursday, but I managed to score a free ticket to an advance screening tomorrow night. I'll post my thoughts on whether it's as bad as I suspect once I've seen it.

It's opening this Thursday for me as well. Right now, I'm a bit undecided whether to see it or not. I'm waiting to read the reviews first before making up my mind. Allan! I'm counting on your review! ;D

I've read a couple of reviews and they weren't good reviews. The more I watch the trailers, the more I wonder whether the movie is filled with only action and explosions than anything else. I'm not a fan of movies like this. I like my movies with some brains and not filled with just mindless action. The reviews I've read say that the movie is very action heavy and one even said that watching this movie is like attending a heavy metal concert.

LOL, Irene. I read one review that said the acting is bad, and the script is worse, but the movie is just too fun to make any of it matter. I saw it tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I take back all the nasty remarks I said about how it was going to be bad because it's a Michael Bay movie. It's mindless action, but it does it so well. The effects are simply stunning, and I would even go as far as calling it the best CGI yet. The movie has a lot of humour to it, which works for the most part. Each Transformer really has their own personality, brought by a combination of acting and animation, and it really works. The plot is kind of weak, though, but in a nutshell, it's simply good vs evil, and there are some bits where it really does reek of Michael Bay. Also, there was a bit of disparity between it feeling like a kids movie at times, and then having masturbation jokes at other times. Still, for the most part it is thoroughly enjoyable. Compared to the other "event" movies this year, it's well above them. 8/10

It's definitely worth seeing. Oh, and I neglected to mention it, but Tom Lenk has a small role in it, too.

Yeah, it was great to hear an Aussie accent, even if she was a bit more boring than most of the other characters. The audience I was with did clap when Optimus Prime arrived. That said, the thing that really got to me with him was when we saw him driving down the street, head on.

They all looked so damn cool!! Michael Bay must have some special love for that damn tree at the end - it was the same one Liv and Ben were kissing under in Armageddon! I thought Rachel was good actually. She was smart and not a wuss at all. And the main chick was like that too. And thats always good to see.

LOL, I didn't notice the tree thing.
The female roles were played up as smart to a degree, though I think their major purpose was as eye candy. And they weren't anywhere near as funny as their male counterparts.

My boyfriend wants to go see this movie, I hardly watched Transformers as a kid so I don't know many of the names, besides Optimus Prime, will it be hard for me to understand?
