No Its not made just for people who watched the cartoon and stuff. Its just very exciting for people who did love it when they were little to see Optimus Prime and the Autobots on the big screen

What feel would that be? I hated War of the Worlds I dunno, it just has the same effect that the War of the Worlds trailer had on me when I first saw it. And in my opinion, I thought War of the Worlds was a great movie.

I think I might go see it, I saw the trailer when I saw POTC3, it looked alright, but I dunno, we shall see. As long as there are no dull points I might enjoy it!

War of the Worlds was okay, but nothing spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. Some nice effects, but meh. I really think Transformers has nothing in common with it, aside from a big budget, Steven Spielberg, and the fact they both featured aliens of some description.
Sammy, the movie has some geek moments for Transformers fans. I'm not a huge fan (I did enjoy it as a kid, though), but still thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not overly faithful to the cartoon, so you won't be lost with character histories, etc. And I didn't think it had any dull moments.

And in my opinion, I thought War of the Worlds was a great movie. My friends and I have this system where we can see how good a movie is by the amount of food we consumed during it. We ate hardly anything in Serenity for example. We ate so much during War of the Worlds. It's a fun movie, but it's hard to take Tom Cruise seriously anymore. Transformers looks much better actually.

I watched it and it was so much better than i thought it was going to be. I too got excited when Optimus Prime arrived. I used to have the transformer set as a kid and he was always my fave I knew when i used to watch him in Even Stevens that Shia would become a big name actor. He was one of those rare kiddies tv programme actors that i could actually stand.

When I went to the movie, I was really expecting it to be crap - especially considering that I'm not usually a Michael Bay fan. But it just did a fantastic job with being great, fun popcorn entertainment. It doesn't take itself too seriously at all, but not to the point where the Transformers don't have gravity. Yeah, I geeked out when seeing Optimus for the first time, too (both times I saw it - glad it still works on the little screen ).

We bought it before we'd seen it so I HOPED it wouldn't be crap! The plot was weak but who cared?

Generally, I really dislike movies with basically no plot. But Transformers was so fun that it didn't matter in the slightest. And I'd even say that if they went for a plot, it wouldn't have been as cool.

Watched it again last night. I think its going to become my fall back movie - don't want to watch anything else.... i'll watch Transformers I still get excited to see Optimus Prime, time after time. Its really quite embarrassing. My Shia fondness grows every time too.

I watched it a while ago, pretty good, not the best plot, but it was fun enough to keep me entertained

To those who get excited when they see Optimus - is it a bigger buzz when you first see him in his robot form, or his truck form? For me, it's definitely the truck.

Well you see that glimpse of him as the truck... but for me its that whole sequence when he comes through the smoke (fog? ), transforms and then leans in and talks that makes me all excited. Its just very cool

That is an awesome sequence too, and it rocks. The thing that gets me is when you first see the truck. Granted, they made some minor adjustments to it for the movie, but it's Optimus.

It was that first appearance for me too. With the intake of breath and the big urge to squeal too

Ooo that looks cool. I was sure I would hate the movie but when I watched it, I enjoyed it a lot. Actually looking forward to the second one.

I'm not generally a fan of Michael Bay movies, and I was convinced that it would be horrible. The only reason I saw it initially was because a mate hooked up with free tickets (and priority seating and free popcorn and drinks, since the sponsor was trying to get his business). But I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it - definitely my favourite Michael Bay movie by a long way.
And the poster looks great. I can't believe the movie will be out next year already.
