Angel was, if not the best, one of the best, episodes of the first season. I loved finding out about Angel's past for the first time (even though when I watched it I already knew). Acting was pretty good, I thought. Darla annoyed me though. You could sense the jealousy really easily and she just wasn't the Darla that we all loved to hate.
And the end of the episode was really sweet. So I'll give it a 8.5/10

yeh I think with Darla you've just got to remember that her story hadn't been figured out yet. They obviously knew that she loved Angel but not all the history in between and the depth of relationship between them.
Thank God she came to Angel otherwise his character may have gone in a completely different direction

Moving on to I Robot... You Jane.
One of my least favourite episodes ever. I hate how it screams out "INTERNET = BAD" and I hate that they had the demon turn into a machine. There were a few good parts, I love the Giles/Jenny interaction and I love the little scene with Xander and Buffy where they are discussing Willow's new boyfriend.
So those two things give it a rating of 2/10. They were the only enjoyable parts of an otherwise crap ep.

I actually liked "I Robot, You Jane." It's not my favorite episode ever, but I seem to enjoy it more than most people.
Willow's given a chance to be in the center of the action. There's great interaction between the other characters when talking about the idea of Willow having a boyfriend. I love the sheer terror Giles has for computers. And while it can be said that the writers were attempting an "internet=bad" philosophy I never quite saw it that way until now. However, it does make sense, and the internet (and the people you meet on it) is something you need to be wary of. So, overall, a nice filler episode.
5/10

It was a Public Service Announcement episode, which are not my favourite kind i must admit. We do have a nice intro the Jenny and Giles relationship, but the episode was just ok and not to the standard of some of the episodes we've seen of Buffy.
I don't think it's trying to say that the Internet is bad, just that we should take caution with people we meet over the net which I think it good advice, but I don't need to be bashed over the head with it.
Another thing I don't like is the title of the ep, ugh
I give it 5/10

3/10 and thats purely for the Jenny/Giles interaction which was truly awsome!
On the downside: the title stinks! the story is weak and looks like it was a rush job, molach had zero originality and I really didn't like the guys that played Fritz and Dave.

Giles terror of computers is great. There are some nice scenes in it, but its just... and very eh episode to me. I agree Tash, the actors that played Fritz and Dave weren't good, and in comparison to the main cast especially were very weak. Anyone else?

2/10 I absolutely hated it, for most of the reasons above,I agree it was screaming the net is bad, theres a difference between showing something can be bad or good and giving a defence for both points it couldnt really stand on its own legs, ofcourse there was some nice humour
Buffy: Okay, slightly. I mean, just not knowing what he's really like.
Xander: Or who he really is. I mean, sure he says he's a high school student, but I can say I'm a high school student.
Buffy: You are.
Xander: Okay, but I can also say that I'm an elderly Dutch woman. Get me? I mean, who's to say I'm not if I'm in the elderly Dutch chat room?

I'd pretty much say what everyone else has said. Not a strong episode. Must have been out of ideas or something. But because it was the first season, I give 'em a 4/10 for trying.

yeh thankfully I don;t think it damages the season too much. if they'd tried it in season 2 it would have been a disaster

Alright on to The Puppet Show.
I've heard a lot of people dislike this episode but I quite like it. Sid is a bit annoying, but I love the interactions between the scoobs and Snyder, I love how Giles tries Xander's hair thing with Cordelia and his distaste in the talent show but need for the "show to go on" and the end sequence where Willow runs of stage is hilarious. One of the stronger season 1 eps imo - 7/10

I liked it alos, I really liked the part where Giles got to witness what Snyder thought of buffy First hand, (cant remember exactly what he said, something about trouble follows them and then something like "that summers") I Loved Giles in this episode, for what you mentioned Beck, the hair thing with Cordy, and his dislike of the talent'less show. I definetly agree, The last scene was brilliant, it showed there personalities, Xander forgot all his lines, Willow was to shy to speak, and Buffy didnt care for it at all, and Xanders big Cheesy Grin at the end makes me laugh everytime 8/10

It wasn't as bad as some of the other episodes in season one but it wasn't good. There were some funny moments with Giles and the talent show, but the demon and the dummy were fairly lame. And I agree with Buffy, dummies in general give me the creeps

Snyder! Thats all that needs to be said. Snyder is a genious of a character and he really makes this episode better than it would have been. Funny moments are expected in a Buffy episode and this had some but the demon was one of the lamest of all time. Cordy singing and Giles getting rid of her simply by saying "your hair" Priceless 7/10

Best thing about this episode was definitely the end bit where they are doing their skit. Hilarious!
Not a favorite episode, but one I have re-watched a couple of times.
7/10

Alright on to NightmaresMy possible favourite in this season. I love the idea that your nightmares could come true, though granted its not an original idea. The Willow scene where she has to sing always makes me laugh, and the clown scene and the spider scene still scare me Its hard to pinpoint what I like about this ep, though the little boy does annoy me a bit.
