umm I just love the idea of Adam, to me he's like the ultimate Frankinstines monster along with the consaquences of human weekness- i.e all ways thingking we can make the world better. Plus he had a cool machine gun arm! I liked the idea of Adam, too, Tash, but think he was poorly portrayed--especially after all the suspense that was created about him and room 314 (or whatever it was) I found him a bit let down.

Adam I hated. There was this big big suspense leading up to him and then he was just a big frankenstein with no personality and yawn-inducing every moment he was on screen. Season 4 could have had a fantastic story arc with the initiative and Adam but for some reason it never worked.

Yeah Adam was really badly executed. I thought it was interesting how he killed children and demons to get an understanding of their biology, but he was just really boring. He could have been really creepy and cool, but it just didn't work.

I liked Adam for the most part. I guess I found his curiousity about humans very intriguing. But as you guys said, he could have been a lot creepier because the suspense building up to him was great.

Yeah, Adam's final plan was brilliant. Its just the way he stumbled around not causing a continuous threat to the scoobies. Like Angelus, he was always snooping around and i was generally scared that a scoob would get done in. Adam was quite lame in that department

Yeah but where Angelus lacked in actual doing anything he made up for with charisma. He may have been a lot of talk talk talk, but so are a lot of vampires, Spike included. Angelus was happy to stalk and drive Buffy and co mad. Adam had no charisma, and did nothing apart from his master plan. And while that was interesting, Adam wasn't.

Ohhh yes. Angelus was very charismatic, and very clever. He definitely wasn't just any old vampire, think about the vampires in the episode where they are killing students at university and taking their stuff. They were quite boring really, nothing special. Angelus really stood out as a vampire.

I think AMgelus stood out as well because he didn't just go for one plan, he always had a couple of back up, and was constantly torturing buffy.
Sunday and her brat pack had one stupid plan that they could only use a couple of times a year!

i think the crazy vamp from helpless season 3 could of gave angel a run for his money in the twisted stakes, it was a shame buffy tricked him into drinking holy water his character could of made season 3 even more intresting, that whole mother thing he had could of brought joyce into a lot of trouble, and a worried buffy always made good viewing.

I utterly despised Andrew, mainly for his cowardice and how his lack of courage was portrayed in such a light-hearted way. This mainly stems from my anger towards how Jonathon was killed off... But that\'s because I liked Jonathon LOL.

Andrew was Awesome! and I dont think Joyce was annoying lol xD . As for Adam, I agree, they could have done so much more, its like we hear about him, we barely see him, then he's over and out...great concept shame the execution was dreadful!. My Fave is Angelus, and Willow, Powerful woman rock!

I liked Andrew, but he was annoying at times. Early Joyce was annoying too, and in episodes like Gingerbread she annoys me. In later seasons I really like her though.

Nah I don't mind Joyce. I'm amazed at how clueless she was in the first two seasons though

Joyce didnt seem like a great mum. Always mentioning what the "mom books" said and some of the things she would say to Buffy at times grrr. Also the fact she never noticed her slaying is bizarre as most mums know what you are doing when you are miles away lol.
I liked Warren, he did what he had to do as a character and i liked that. He was a bad guy and did bad stuff like other big bads but he also made me laugh on a number of occasions. I think as he is portrayed as a woman hater (which i disagree with) is why i think most fans dont like him.
I dont really like Anya, she annoyed me more than made me laugh.

Warren was never a woman hater, that seemed to appear out of nowhere He created his bot because he wanted someone to love him, not because he wanted a woman to control or hated them. He was pathetic and lonely, not a woman hater. I didn't really hate him either. Tara I don't like because she's boring.

Yeah i agree completely, he was not a woman hater. And yes Tara was duller than dishwater and this also had a bad affect on Willow. Was Willow even in most of season 5?

Warren was an interesting one really. I've never seen him as inconsistent. I completely see him as a mysogynist. Mysogyny often arises out of insecurity and inadequecy on the part of the male and Warren has this in spades. He doesn't want someone to love he wants someone to control as we saw with April. He designed her to be a 'Yes Girl' and I think Katrina was right to break up with him because she was right on the money.
He does find Katrina more interesting I'll admit but he still tries to bully and control her, because people like him can't handle a real relationship. He also uses the cerebral dampener on Katrina. He words he said to her were sick, he obviously gets off on being the dominant one and it's not surprising that he wanted to beat up Buffy using his magic 'balls' but Buffy soon puts end to that by crushing his 'balls'. There is a clear message here of enforced male potency here.
We all feel lonely at some point and sometimes we want things they way we want them but it's what we do about it that defines us. Warren insecurity didn't just compel him to control women but those around him (Jonathan and Andrew). I've never seen such a text book case as Warren, he cannot handle a relationship with a real woman.

April wasn't created as simply a yes girl, he gave her thoughts and feelings, she was made to love him. He loved Katrina and prefered that relationship because it was real - a girl really loved him. His feelings of insecurity got worse when she dumped him, but even in season 6 he wanted her to love him. It wasn't possible so he turned to magic and controlling her. He never tried to bully or control Katrina when they were a couple. I doubt she would have accepted that, when he got angry with her she stormed off angry herself, so its highly unlikely that he was ever able to bully her and yet he still wanted to be with her. He was able to cope with the relationship fine when it was working out, it was the break up he was not able to deal with.
He shows no signs of wanting beat up on women except for Buffy, who he knows is the slayer and not a regular girl. He never tried to beat Katrina when she was under his control. Using the cerebral dampener on Katrina was sick, but he was not alone in that and no one calls Jonathan or Andrew mysogynists. He wanted her however he could have her because he still loved her, he was sick, but not a woman hater. Yes he got off on being dominant, but so do many men.
