There *are* spin-offs - fanfiction! I really, really, really don't want her to let other people publish using her characters. That seems wrong to me. What does everyone think about the photos from OotP? I'm excited! Love that Evanna Lynch made earrings for Luna. Just perfect.

I agree with Paul that the ministry scene must be done to perfection. It is the main part of the book and i do feel it kind of took too long to actually get there in its story form. They really have to play the Sirius/Harry love up to its fullest. We missed out on a few key moments between the two in Goblet of Fire movie due to time restraints so it will have to be really amplified in this film.

I'm really not looking forward to seeing it because i hate the book I had to really make myself keep reading because it was so very depressing. And then we all know what happened.... i will refuse to watch that bit onscreen

Me too. I threw the book across the room when that happened... I'm likely to be pissed/upset when it happens onscreen so it will become one of those scenes that is always skipped... I didnt hate the book, but heaps if it was pretty hard to read and well... boring.

My copy has a big dent in the cover from that! I'm not sure how upset I will be in the movie - his role in the last movie was practically nothing. They better do a good job!

If that scene isn't done wonderfully I'll be really upset. And I agree with Glenn about having a lot of Sirius/Harry moments in the movie. If there aren't it will ruin the emotion of that scene. I also loved the aftermath. If that's left out, I'll be really pissed. And Harry and Dumbledore is key too. If those things aren't well done I'll be really upset. Those are all key scenes with a lot of emotion behind them. I loved reading those scenes in the book (even though I cried my eyes out after that scene) because of the high level of raw emotion.
And it's important to have the rest of the events at the ministry. I hope they ahve Harry standing up to Umbridge in class, but I have a feeling that will be left out. And hopefully, the Harry/Cho relationship will just be touched upon.
We just have to hope the movie will have a great director who understands the importance of the scenes and is able to know what should be in the movie and what shouldn't be.

I hope they don't have Dan Radcliffe's hair like that for the entire movie! It's awful!
I'm actually kind of surprised they're doing that scene...

I guess they will want to show us the corridor leading to the department of mysteries. That way we can link it with his dreams. Also the odd behavioyr of Dumbledore towards Harry. I suppose to show us how much Fudge has changed because we didnt see him burst into a rage at the end of the fourth.

I hope they don't have Dan Radcliffe's hair like that for the entire movie! It's awful! I'm actually kind of surprised they're doing that scene... Isn't it! And I'm pretty surprised too - they could have easily just showed him turning up at the ministry. But I think it's pretty cool that they'll show the tube and stuff. Also positive news from the director who says that he's got about 3hrs worth of footage, but will need to cut about 45 minutes. *hopes for lots of deleted scenes on the dvd) BOOK SEVEN NEWS!K Rowling updated her site today with news that she now has a third title for Book 7. I've now got a third title. I've been thinking back, and I know that I've had more titles than this for a couple of the previous books, so I'm not too worried by this. Title three currently ahead by a short nose, or perhaps that should be a vowel and two consonants.
I've just had a great writing week. There are few feelings more joyous than reading back over the week's work and thinking 'that's not bad at all', as opposed to the all-too-frequent, 'it's rubbish, I've wasted a week and I'll have to re-write the lot.' And if you think that's an exaggeration or false modesty, you are very, very wrong. It's perfectly possible to put in eight hour days and have nothing to show for them but a single idea that, if reworked completely, might be passable.Exciting!

Hopefully they'll do it like Lord of the Rings and have an extended version instead of just deleted scenes.

Yeah that would be the best ever. I would pay up to $40 for that, I think. It's news like this that makes me annoyed that Alfonso didn't shoot any extra scenes - he said he only shot what he knew he'd use.

It has the potential to make me very mad. And cry. I hate crying at the cinema If I don't walk out I will have to go back and walk out then and leave it as a happier ending...

Even though I will have to watch that scene and cry I would never walk out. Especially if they do the aftermath, which in my opinion is one of the best parts of the book.
What I love about OOTP is the raw emotion from Harry and the aftermath of that scene and then in Dumbledore's office has a lot of it. I would never want to miss it. (I am, of course, blindly assuming they will be doing those scenes)

Hopefully Dan Rad can up his acting once again. He has slowly got better and better. Though i still laugh when he is crying in the POA film after he finds out Sirius is his Godfather and that he betrayed his parents because i dont think he could handle that emotion well enough as an actor. He did much better with Cedric's death though and im hoping for a huge improvement with Sirius'
