So I've gathered from reading this and the book thread that most of you are not Twihards and...really...I'm not one either. I just think the series is light and fun and I don't have to think too much when I read it or watch it. It's like a little break, you know?
So my question:
Is anyone else going to a midnight screening of Eclipse?

I'm not. I haven't seen New Moon yet but I'm quite keen on renting out the DVD to watch it. Mostly because I'm in need of a movie to watch. So I'll probably do the same for Eclipse - wait till the DVD is out. But I must say, the movie sure do produce good soundtracks.

The trick is to not take them too seriously. I think that's the problem a lot of younger people have. They live and die by these films and think they're the best things ever, when, clearly, they aren't.
I AM glad that it's leading to some halfway decent carreers for some of them. The girl who played Jessica has been in a George Clooney movie and is about to be in Scott Pilgrim and Robert Pattinson is going to be doing a movie called Water for Elephants (which was a great book).

I'm taking my niece to see it, I think. I might wait til the crowds die down a bit though, definitely not going on the first few days

I like the midnight thing even if the movies don't turn out great for one reason...
it reminds me of the greatness of the Harry Potter midnight parties.
I know it can never hold up..but it makes me feel a little comforted to know that, even after the seventh film, I can recapture that excitement of getting together with a bunch of fans to wait for hours and hours for something so important to us by hanging out with the Twilighters.
God I'm gonna miss Harry Potter...........................

God no. Would rather stab myself in the eye with a fork. I'll see it at some point so i can continue the fight against the trash, but it won't be until the cinemas are as screaming chippy idiot free as possible!

I love seeing them in theaters just because I love seeing all the crazy fans. They entertain me. The movies are shit, but I still watch them. I'll probably see Eclipse when it comes out.

I want to kill them! Even if i hate the film i have (usually) paid my hard earned money to see it. I do not need idiots giggling, cheering, swooning, clapping or giving a running commentary! I went to Twilight with my friend on the first day (who i have never forgiven) and i resorted to threatening a chippy bitch behind me with my straw!

Oh Loz .. what else did you expect? Of course there will be giggling and "oohs and aahs". Especially with the Twilight saga.

I wouldn't waste my money on it. I read the books, I didn't enjoy them. I don't like what the characters and plots stand for, Bella is an insult to all female heroines imo and both Jacob and Edward are abusive jerks. No way would I spend that amount of money on trash like that. I saw the second movie because I was with my sister the night before her wedding, and she wanted to see it. I see no reason I need to see this one. And I am most definitely not going near a cinema for the midnight release of it.

So you'll pay to see it, as soon as the cinema is screaming-chippy-idiot-free, but you won't go for free

I hate the films. Never read the books which are usually better than the films but im quite happy at the moment and dont want to be put on a serious downer. The last twilight film that was out made me want to noose myself. The themes of abandonment, sulking, moodiness and just plain naivety is not what i want from a film. There was no enjoyment. All the actors are constantly in a state of various poses, like they have no real expressions of their own. And the number of long, long winded exposition that is always spoke like they are out of breath is beyond belief. Its pure garbage. Sorry if i offend any fangirls

I saw Eclipse yesterday. The cinema wasn't even half-full. The foyer was pretty packed when we came out though, but I think a few of them were waiting for Toy Story 3 as well. Anyway it's wasn't half bad. The same less than brilliant acting, but the back stories of the characters was good. The fight scene at the end was awesome Since the glittery effect of the vampires was made like the glittering in natural marble, when the newborns were killed it was the same effect as smashing apart marble or ice statues. The wolves still looked pretty good, except I noticed when they ran, the cg was great, but the wolves looked awkward and clumsy at a slow walk. Lots more Quileutes running around half naked but newborn Riley is my new favourite eye candy And as for the new Victoria, I think Bryce Dallas Howard looks too sweet. Charlie is awesome, as always lol. Edward/Bella/Jacob... well same as always!

I saw it today. I thought it was pretty bad. Misogynistic crap. Too many close-ups.
