yeh I knew as soon as I saw the incident that his foot was broke I'm more worried about what it will do to Rooney rather than the team. In pre-season he looked really fired up and in top form so its gonna drive him crazy being off for so long. I guess its good that we finally signed Tevez and we've got a packed midfield so we can release Giggs and Ronaldo up front Newcastle played well on saturday and its definately gonna help having big sam there, but I'd take a snap shot of the legue table before you get scrapped from the top

Oh the snapshot has been taken But i think we can get a result against Reading at the weekend. They didn't look great against Man Utd at all. They only got the draw because Man Utd looked just as woeful. Arsenal looked superb however. Flowing football, chance after chance, shot after shot. Was only the heroics of the keeper that stopped a cricket score.

I have to agree unfortunatly united didn't bring it on Sunday but I reckon they could still give you a run, they go into all defensive mode and sometimes it can be hard to break down

Newcastle will definitely do well this season. When I heard Allardyce was going to join them, I thought it was a match made in football heaven. He would be good for the club.
Was definitely disappointed with United's performance. It just showed us how we miss having a central striker like Van Nistelrooy. I hope Saha gets back from injury quicky and stay injury free throughout the season. That or we need to get a central striker pronto.
The Portsmouth game will be very tricky. Let's hope that Tevez will live up to his hype and bag us some goals tonight.

I don't think a central striker that we're lackikng, if you saw any of the pre-season games we played really well, really energetic and attacked every game. On Sunday the only players really working hard were Van Der Sar and Rooney! and thats not good enough.
Ronaldo barely had the ball, Carrick and Scholes were disappointing, Evra needs to get out of midfield because he's so much better at left back, Silvestre I have no time for so I'd much prefer Evra in his position. Pretty much the same situation with Brown and O'Shea. I thought Nani had a terrible premiership debut almost as if the occassion got to him too much. I don't know what everyone else thinks of him but I'm tipping Eagles to have a great season if he gets the chance to play, he was impressive in pre season

I didn't see much of their pre-season games but I've heard about Eagles playing well. I hope he gets more games in the Premiership as I think he'll do well. I've always been a fan of him. I thought Carrick played well though. There are a lot of through passes that he made which were great but we lacked that finishing touch. I agree with you on Nani and Evra. Evra shouldn't be in midfield at all and I was very surprise that he played in that position. I've never liked Silvestre and I wished Henize got picked instead of him. I find Henize a much better player (though it's hard to say if Henize would ever get a game as a United player again). I'm very skeptical of Tevez. I wasn't really keen on him joining United so I'm not going to get my hopes up for him. I feel he is a bit overrated.

Eagles is a quality player. He will find it hard to get into the team though, except for the Carling Cup.

I don't know he almost single handedly saved west ham last season so he's gotta have some talent but that doesn't always transpire with the change of teams. Heinze will most likly be out until atleast christmas with this dispute going on. I was impressed with Pique during pre-season too but he's more a central defender, maybe give someone like Simpson a chance to show what he can do. A lot of our problems will be solved once Neville gets back though

Eagles is a quality player. He will find it hard to get into the team though, except for the Carling Cup. True. But I'm hoping his form during pre-season and towards the end of last season would get him more action this season round. I was pretter disappointed when we sold Smith and Rossi. I don't know he almost single handedly saved west ham last season so he's gotta have some talent but that doesn't always transpire with the change of teams. I don't deny his talent but I'm unsure whether he'll show the same form for United as he did for West Ham.

I'm sure you weren't. Credit goes to ManU if he excels in Newcastle.

lol I think Smith is much more suited at Newcastle but then again we did invest a lot of time and money getting him fit to play, speaking of fit players I'm looking forward to seeing Owen in action again.
Sounds like man u are playing with some purpose tonight, 1-0 up after 15mins plus it was made by Tevez and Nani so its good that they're throwig themselves into the game

Another disappointing performance from us. I thought we could have taken all 3 points as there are a few chances where we could have killed off the game. On the bright side, Tevez looked sharp so that's good news to us. I think he can fill in Rooney's role nicely while he's out. I'm not worried about United losing the title chase. It's still early in the season and United have the habit of having a slow start before blazing through the season after Christmas. Besides, the last time we drew our first two matches, we won the Treble.

yeh but its still dissapointing but I suppose if we start off storming we're gonna have a harder time keeping up the pressure when it matters. we've got to bring it against Man City though we can't allow a draw with them

Yeah we do. It's been said that the title can't be won in the first 5 matches but it certainly can be lost. Hopefully we'll find out rhythme back for the derby.
And let's hope for a draw for the Liverpool-Chelsea match.

Woot! finally man utd are off and running! what a bloody strike by Nani he's starting to earn his place in the squad and just one more game to get through before Ronaldo gets back! we seriously need smeone that can get past players when they're playing so tight in defence. Atleast we now stand a chance to get back in the running

Finally a win! And what a relief it was. I thought for sure we would draw as we keep drawing up a blank no matter how much possession we had. Wonderful strike from Nani! Though I feel his play could have been better. He reminds me a lot of Ronaldo when he first came to United. Just like Ronaldo then, Nani's play was quite selfish at times. There were a number of times where I would yell at the TV for him to pass the bloody ball instead of running at the defense on his own. I hope Saha plays for us against Sunderland. We still need more firepower up front.

A sad day for United fans as Solskjaer announces his retirement from football with immediate effect.

Some more sad news.
Sevilla's Antonio Puerta has died three days after collapsing on the field at age 22. Seems he suffered a heart attack. It shocks me how people who are in their prime of fitness can be struck down in such a way.

Oh wow! That's the most shocking news I've heard all day. I never expected him to die.
