Something like that it usually means there was some hidden heart defect that could go at anytime. Definatly sad I think they've cancelled the match in his honour.
Shame about Ole too I figered he wouldn't retire until after this season

ManU 1 Sunderland 0 Not the most impressive win but 3 points is 3 points right? Glad to see Saha on the score sheet. He definitely looked sharp when he came on. I don't know what Sir Alex was thinking when he started with Anderson. I don't feel he is up to standard - not like Nani is anyway. I just hope Saha stays injury free this season. With Ronaldo back for the Everton match and Rooney reaching fitness soon, our attack will be deadly!

we didn't do too bad atleast it was a win. I was even more pleased with the Chelsea score, not because it benefited us just purely because they lost!

Me too, Tash! ;D And it comes at a great time too. We can capitalise on their loss when they meet us on the 23rd.

The shock of the day (well for me anyways). Mourinho leaves Chelsea. I definitely didn't expect this to happen. I knew he had problems with the club but I always thought he would stick it out through the end of the season and leave then. I wouldn't how this would affect Chelsea's performance in the league and in Europe.

this news made my morning! I realy hope this knocks the cocky buggers off their high horses, especially with United playing them this weekend and judging by their form on Tuesday and now this they don't stand a chance of beating us! I thought it might be coming but not so soon. Have you listened to his interviews over the last few weeks? he's lost the plot! its possible he's having a mental break down. I'm gonna have loads of fun taking the piss out of Chelsea fans all day and to top it all the boss has named his best mate manager and coach! oh yeh thats gonna bring them success! Its a good day to be anything but a Chelsea fan!

With this news, I honestly cannot see Chelsea winning back the title. I can see more problems arising - players leaving, etc...so good news for us United! Bring on Sunday! I would love for our boys to beat Chelsea to put the icing on the cake.

Distressing news. The premiership has lost a real character.

Awesome result for us! I thought we looked liked ourselves in the first half and it's a shame we didn't kill the game off then. I'm glad Tevez got his goal.
Chelsea didn't even give us a fight and I'm surprise. I thought they would go all out for it after what happened.

Saha should be ashamed of himself with that obvious and ridiculous dive. Mikel should not have been sent off for his challenge, though Joe Cole should have. Also Rooney should have got a second booking for his foul on Ashley Cole. The referee was shit.

I was pretty shocked when Mikel was shown the red card. I didn't expect that. But that red card compensated for Joe Cole's foul in my opinion.
I don't agree that Saha dived - he was tripped but he clearly made the fall dramatic.

I didn't see any trip but even if there were, was the dramatic fall really necessary. If you are tripped you tend to fall over and not have time to think to throw your arms and legs all over the place

ManU facing Arsenal today. Should be a great match to watch as both teams are in form. I think Arsenal has the upper hand in this because of their home advantage but I'm sure ManU won't go there without a fight. I can see this as a draw and I would take it. It's better than a loss anyway!
But all three points for us would be sweet! ;D

I'm bringing this all the way up!.
Although I hate them , Man United play Roma tomorrow in the Champions league, going in with a 0-2 Victory to Man U away from home, can Man U be beaten?
I cant see Manchester United being beaten at Old Trafford, and with those 2 away goals Man U grabbed at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma of course need 3 goals to win, 2 for ET & possibly Penelties.
I think Roma will be expecting Ronaldo to have his position switched, he came from nowhere to score his goal, and wow what a goal!
Ofc Barcelona also got an away goal, can they be beaten at home? , i'd say Barce are going threw.
Chelsea (2-1) a goal down, they need 1 to win (of course, as long as fenerbache dont score) , that will be a good a game, Chelsea rightfully so will be attacking constantly.
Arsenal V Liverpool well at 1-1, this surely will be a brilliant game, I hate Liverpool so c'mon the Arsenal!

Chelsea, Barca and Mau Utd should all reach the semi finals but for the life of me i can not call the Liverpool v Arsenal game. Two 1-1 draws in a row makes it even harder to call. I hope it goes to penalties.
Also big hurrah for Newcastle's end of season resurgence. Thats the kind of football we wanted to see all season.

I was thinking of bringing this thread back to life. So three English teams in the semi-finals: Liverpool vs Chelsea (not again! ) and Man Utd vs Barcelona. I can see Liverpool going into the finals again. Liverpool is a different team when playing in europe and I can see them overcoming Chelsea quite easily. It's difficult to call the other game though. But I have faith Man Utd has the ability to reach the finals.

Chelsea are a pretty tough team to beat home & away, but I think Liverpool will knock them out for the same reason you mentioned Irene, they are a different team in the big competitions. Man Utd V Barcelona I am very much looking forward to! I think Man U definetly have the ability to reach the final, Players like Messi, zambrotta, Etto and Ronaldo on the same pitch I can't wait . I think they are playing at Camp Nou first, I think that is when we will see Man Utd play their best, I hope Barca win, they play beautiful football, European football seems to be more skillfull, but Man Utd are physical, and I think Barca may find it tough to cope with, especially Ronaldo. Whoever wins, I dont think it will be by much.

Yeah, they play at Nou Camp in the first leg. I'm really excited about this match. It's probably the first time in years where I feel Man Utd have a realistic chance of going into the finals. I would think we'll get a draw at Nou Camp and win at Old Trafford. It would definitely be a tight game.
And I'm looking forward to a Liverpool - Man Utd finals. ;D
Btw, Nico, did Rangers go through to the next round?

Looking at the way Man Utd played against Roma away from home, I definetly think their chances of reaching a final is very high, and Barcelona have been so unconsitant with their football recently. I agree that if Man Utd go threw they will probably wrap it up at Old Trafford. and yes Irene, they won 2-0 away from home against Sporting Lisbon (which I was worried about since Sporting knocked out Bolton? (I think), I am hoping they make it into the Eufa cup final! it is being played in Manchester, so I will be able to go!

Plus, with Ronaldhino saying he wants to leave Barcelona, Utd can capitalise on their unrest within their camp. It should be a great game. ;D
Who are Rangers facing in the semis?
