We are playing Fiorentina, who knocked out the other English club in the Eufa cup , Dont know if you follow european teams Irene, but I reckon Bayern Munich will definetly be in the final, I cant remember who they are playing though!. and yes, I can imagine the barce team will be a little shaken up, in their league they are trailing leaders Ac Milan by like 6 points, and have played one extra game, so they definetly are having some problems!. When is it being played do you know? the end o fthe month?

Can't be AC Milan as they are Italian. I think they are trailing behind Real Madrid?
I follow a bit of European football and I do know quite a bit about Bayern Munich (they knocked Utd out of the Champions League a few times). I think they would be strong favourites to win it.
The semi-finals are being played next week (22nd and 23rd) though I'm not exactly sure which day the Utd/Bacelona game is being played.
Did anyone else catch the Utd/Arsenal game last night? Man, what a game! My heart stopped a few times throughout the game as we were quite poor, especially at the back. Thank goodness for my boy Hargreaves to win it. ;D

I was listening on the radio! boy was that a match!
Liverpool/Chelsea tonight, should be a cracking game. Even though I hate both teams I'll be pulling for Liverpool because I hate them slightly less, they're a northern team plus United/Chelsea in the premiership this week is an important match and if Chelsea loose and we win tomorrow it will give us a hue advantage
Who's watching the match tonight?

I watched the match and Liverpool was very unlucky to get a draw. Poor Riise. I wanted Liverpool to win (can't stand Chelsea) but I know that if we go into the finals and face Liverpool, we would face a tough test. In my opinion, I feel that it's a lot easier to beat Chelsea in the finals. They are not as good in Europe as Liverpool is. As for the Chelsea/United match on Saturday, I can't see us winning it. I see a draw. But hopefully, we would still be able to win the title with our two remaining games. I would probably jump out of a tall building if Chelsea wins the title in the end.

Chelsea didnt deserve a draw, they had plenty of chances that they screwed up by themselves, I am hoping for a Barcelona V Liverpool Final, but it just proved last night, anything can happen! and not only did Riise give Chelsea a draw with his own goal, he gave them the crucial away goal advantage!.

Even though I was hopeing Liverpool would win it was hillerious watching Riise! why he didn't just knock it out with his right foot I'll never know! even though its his weaker foot there's know way he would have scored an own goal! Have to fancy Chelsea now with the advantage, Liverpool have a terrible track record at Stamford Bridge.
Irene don't be so negative! we've done really well against top teams lately! Who would hav thought we'd have such good results against Liverpool and Arsenal. If we can get a couple of goals tonight it will give us a huge boost at home!

I checked out the Match Stats for Barce V Man U, and my god, 72% possesion to Barce , 500 more completed passes than Man U and ofc a missed Man U penelty , though thats a bad looking game record, Manu U holding Barcelona to 0-0 at home is a pretty good result.
Though my team were held to 0-0 at home, and went and Beat sporting Lisbon away 2-0 , so it certainly isnt over, with the Old Trafford crowd I think Man U will be given a huge boost, I think if Barcelona score first, Manchester wont come back from that , but I think Manchester United will get the first goal.

I'm quite disappointed with a 0-0 draw. Would have preferred a 1-1 draw instead. You could see straight away that our plan was to be on the defensive and contain Barca. We did well since with all that possession, Barca didn't do anything with it. I'm glad the second leg is at home as I believe we would get the result we need. As long as Barca doesn't score. ;D Irene don't be so negative! we've done really well against top teams lately! Who would hav thought we'd have such good results against Liverpool and Arsenal. If we can get a couple of goals tonight it will give us a huge boost at home! I'm not being negative, just realistic. We do have a good record against the top teams but Liverpool is such a different team in Europe. As for Chelsea, they haven't been beaten at home for what? 4 years? Both teams will be going into that game with high spirits after the Champions League result so it should be a cracking game.

we were really lucky last night. Its a good job the second leg is at home because we neary always under perform away from home. The only three players to show up last night were our central defenders and goal keeper! how can they expect to advance when they play completely different football to our own style, why change it?!
I just hope we go back to playing attacking football on Saturday because its our only chance, sit back like that aginst Chelsea and they'll punish us.
I was hopeing for a really good day on Saturday- down the pub watching man u win then straight to my hometowns last game of the season in which a win or a draw (depending on other results) would see us in the playoffs for the Blue Square Conference, considering in November we were in the bottom 3 in the league to have the chance to finish anywhere from 3rd- 6th this is a huge achievement

What was Ferguson doing?! Hargreaves at Right back? What a waste of talent. Rooney on the right wing, Park Ji Sung in centre mid and Carlos Tevez was playing in midfield it seemed rather than up front. It was so very poor. Carrick epitomized what is wrong with most English players. Poor touch, poor decisions and doesnt know how to play the possession game. He thinks he has to do a killer ball every time. Look at the way Barca played possession football and made Man Utd look like a shambles. One of the downsides of having a team full of English players is that they get passed to death by foreign teams. Probably why the English national team is so poor

Ferguson got his line-up all wrong for the Barca game. If he wanted to be defensive, he should go with a 4-5-1 formation instead of a 4-4-2. I was really surprise that Tevez started the game and Anderson didn't.
I hope he would go for the 4-5-2 formation for tomorrow's game. A Anderson-Hargreaves-Carrick midfield always worked well away from home in my opinion with Rooney up front.
Ronaldo better havve this scoring boots on.

Going to be a tough match I reackon if we manage to get one goal we'll get another and wrap up the whole season! I can't wait its going to a good match, definatly more of a battle of wits and strength than skill and lavish football. The only bad thing is I'll probably have to leave for the Barrow match before the end

I doubt I'll be watching the whole match either, maybe just the first half. Rugby is on during the second half of the match and I'm sure my Uncle would want to watch it. Fingers crossed he wouldn't! ;D

Oo it's going to be a close one, Man united have a superior goal difference so right now they are still okay. WHo will take it? Man U I would say.
Chelsea have Newcastle and Bolton, both teams have more to fight for than west ham & wigan. Newcastle are playing well recently and bolton ofcourse fighting near relagation.
I seen it in the paper for my own team "the title is theirs to lose" and its the same for Man U.

I'm very nervous about the West Ham match. They beat us at home last season (though it was under different circumstances - we've already won the league and they were fighting relegation) and they beat us earlier in the season. So West Ham is a pretty tricky match. But I'm glad it's at home though. I think once we get past West Ham, we should have no problem seeing off Wigan and be champions. We also have Barca on Tuesday so it's going to be a crucial couple of weeks. And nerve-wrecking! I seen it in the paper for my own team "the title is theirs to lose" and its the same for Man U. How many points do the Rangers need in order to win the title?

well we are 5 points behind Celtic (the leaders) but we have 3 games in hand so all we have to do is continue to win and we will take it, they beat us in the last 2 games (we played them 2 times in one weeK) but as long as we dont slip up we should take the title. Especially because of euro games , we have fallen far behind.
Man Utd will be thinking about the Barcelona game alot, this is when it gets really nerve racking, when your team is in a big competition, one game away from the final and fighting for the premiership!
I think the best advice for our teams is 'keep winning!', if they happen to trip up hope that other teams do us a favour!

I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight (the match is being played tomorrow morning for me)! I'm just glad that we are at home than away. Based on our recent performance away from home, I don't think I have the confidence that we'll go into the finals. One thing I don't want to happen (besides the obvious) is for the game to go into a penalty shootout!

I know that feeling Irene, Man United are alot stronger at honme in my opinion.
My team play their euro match on Thursday, we are playing away with a 0-0 . I am nervous about a penelty shootout to Irene, lets hope both our teams do the job during the original 90 minutes!
