It has been reported that a familiar face would be joining the cast of Dollhouse. Anybody remember Amy Acker? Yep. She'll be playing Dr. Claire Saunders. Also joining the cast is Harry Lennix (he plays an ex-cop who serves as a guard/bodyguard for Echo) and Miracle Laurie (playing November).

It's great to hear Amy Acker will be on it. She needs more roles, and I gained a lot of respect to her after the Fred/Illyria transformation.

I really do love Amy Acker, so I'm very glad to hear that!

Some new info...
WTF?! Premiering in January?

Midseason shows generally do start around then. Basically, it'll be a half(ish) season, and will be available to replace something that failed (kind of like Buffy season one was). Or maybe Joss's design of the show is to tell shorter seasons.

I was hoping it would premiere in fall but when they said it was premiere mid-season, I had a feeling it would be a long wait. It still sucks. I was looking forward to new material from Joss. EDIT: Promo Pic. www.whedon.info/Dollhouse-Tv-Series-First.html

Cool pic, but there's no Amy Acker in it. She is a series regular, rather than just having a recurring role, isn't she? And I'm guessing the bare feet somehow symbolise the characters who are dolls?

www.whedon.info/Dollhouse-Tv-Series-First-Trailer.htmlThere's the trailer to the series. It looks pretty good. And I also just read on the IMDb that Fox is cutting the ads in half during the airing of the show. Their theory is that it will give people an excuse to not flip the channel during the commercials. Let's hope it works some!

TBH, if this wasn't a Joss show, I don't know if I'd be all that interested. The trailer looks okay...

It's surprising that they're promoting it so heavily already. And it looks cool - something a bit different, and it's great to see more different concepts come from Joss.
I'd heard about Fox cutting the ads - presumably that will make for longer episodes. I mean, they could go for longer breaks between shows, but that would be when people are most likely to flip channels. Unless they're going to be showing series at strange times...

You see, that's why I'm surprise that the show is going on air next year. A trailer is already out and the second ep is almost done. It sounds like it's going on air in the fall. Anyway, the trailer looks cool though confusing. If I didn't know what the show was about, I doubt I would have understood it. But to be honest, I don't see this show surviving. I would be very surprise if it gets picked up for a second season. Not because I think it's a crap show (it's a Joss Whedon show for goodness sake) but because it's not your usual TV program that America would like. Plus, it's on FOX.

Yeah I am going to support the show, but I don't see it lasting very long, unfortunately.

It's interesting, though. Dexter, as an example, is a huge hit. And it's a show bout a serial killer, where it humanises him, and makes him kind of relateable. It's something that I would never have thought would be successful, but I was proved wrong.
If a show can find an audience, it will survive. It depends on whether the show is good, and whether it gets publicised and treated correctly by its network (the latter of which being Firefly's failure). They're building up hype for it early, it's been given a good timeslot, so the odds are in its favour. Let's hope it's a big success.

I'm disturbed by the fact that the extremely untalented Dichen Lachman is in the cast. She stunk it up on Neighbours so how she got cast is beyond me. I'm happy to be proven wrong but i don't have high hopes

I had to check out IMDb because her name doesn't ring a bell - neither does her photo on there - not that I watch Neighbours, mind you. They all seem like talented hacks on there, but I've been pleasantly surprised by some people, post-Neighbours.

Joss has a knack for spotting talent for the right roles so who knows. She might blow us all away with her performance.
