I agree, she is far nicer on the show than in the first book. But I think some of that is that TV viewers are far less forgiving than book readers. It is the same in a lot of shows that have been made from books - any main character that they want to make even slightly sympathetic or redeemable later on then they won't have them do certain things (for example using True Blood - like Bill raping Sookie in the books and in the show lessened to drinking from her).

Because at work we got the first episode just as a sampler DVD or something, and I have no way of watching it since I don't have the channel it airs on. So I'll be waiting for the DVDs.

I know the Blu-Rays come out in early March (because i've pre-ordered it) and the special features are listed on Amazon. Lots of commentaries.

You should! There's like a commentary on every episode. I haven't checked the last disc for other special features yet, but I'll let you know when I get there. I can't believe they showed that jouster beheading his horse! Very gruesome. |

Yeah! And the box set looks super cool! I'm pissed because I was looking at the IMDb trivia for this and stupidly read this spoiler: That Sean Bean's character dies at the end of season 1! I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm sooo pissed I read that spoiler since I would NOT have seen that coming. And I love him, it's so sad. Anyway, I'm on the eighth episode now I believe. I won't be able to watch season 2 with you guys though since I don't have HBO. |

No I haven't read the series. Where can I watch it online? Can't watch it on the HBO site without a subscription ... And I don't want to watch it on some shit quality website. |
