Yeah but Angel wasn't needed imo. The whole reason for not having Buffy in the finale of Ats was because it was not her show, so why have him on her show? And its not like he helped at all.

I thought that it came up that Buffy was going to be in the finale of AtS (or at least a later season 5 ep), but SMG was in Japan (I believe shooting the Grudge), so she couldn't make it. Or was that someone else?

No SMG was going to appear in the 100th episode - but couldn't do it, so Charisma guest starred in You're Welcome and it was changed.

Oh, alright, that makes sense I guess. So SMG was available for the finale? I guess I wouldn't have wanted her on the Angel finale anyway.

I'm not sure she would have said yes even if she was asked, but she wasn't.

She would have been irrelevant to the story and it would totally undermine the show as trying to stand apart from Buffy.

i read something that i found interesting
Joss asked SMG to be in the penultimate episode but she said that she would only do the finale which joss didnt want her to be involved in so she flat refused to appear at all
could be rumours but read it in BTVS mag

Meh some how I reckon the whole 'were one big happy family' line is just that! Cracks are begining to show in how people decided to leave 'the family'

When i was younger and watching for the first time i was enthralled by the Buffy/Angel romance. I didnt view the age differance as creepy and i didnt find it corny as i didnt really know any better. I really liked some of the scenes between them. Its quite different for me now.

Eh it was and never has been too corny for me. I can see how some people might think that it is, but I for one don't. I would draw the line once they started talking about how much they loved eachother every other scene, but it never got to that.

umm sometimes it did espacially in season 3 but thats part of why I love them. Buffy's emotions were blow overboard because you she's a teenager so every little thing, every gesture becoms huge. Whether your grown out of it or not you've gotta admit it's a pretty typical teenage relationship

I do not favour many couples over the others, but this relationship I did not like at all. It was incredibly fake. It was rushed, the actors having chemistry is the only thing that kept it interesting at all. The dialogue, everything about it was over the top and too much for me. It is not helped by the fact I dislike Buffy.

Ugh no. they almost never even used the word love when they were with eachother. You might think that true love is corny, but I sure as hell don't.
How on earth was it fake? You can't fake true love and passion.
They had an instant attraction, they didn't even start dating until the second season, which took place over several months after they first met. Which that's how the average relationship works, you're attracted to the person, you allow feelings to grow, you act upon those feelings.

Ahaha James thinking true love is corny? No. Not at all. He thinks Buffy and Angel are corny. Buffy says often how much she loves him. I remember one line "i love you so much, i kill you and it didnt help" or something like that. Corny. And true love, what a load of rubbish.
The 'love' was rushed, not the relationship. They fel almost instantly in love. And yes, it felt fake to me. The corny lines, the constant talk of how it was true love, feels fake to me.

Ok... and that's one single line. Out of several hundred. That's not Corny, that's tragic.
How so? Angel attained true happiness whilst with Buffy. Thus equating to him feeling true love for buffy.
They weren't actually in love into well in the second season. Although it may have been hinted in the first season it wasn't actually confirmed until the second. Which was what? Nearly a year after they met? I don't think that's rused at all. If you belive that Angel fell in love with the moment he layed eyes on her, than yes that, I suppose, was 'rushed'. But that's the whole concept of love at first site.

Ok... and that's one single line. Out of several hundred. That's not Corny, that's tragic. No its corny. And there are many other lines. In Reptile Boy, for instance. True happiness is easily obtained through sex with a chick you love, that doesn't make it always true love He also felt this with Cordelia, so is that true love by your definition too? Love at first sight does not exist. You can lust after someone and want them at first sight, not love someone when you know nothing about them.

I'm not going to answer anything else, we all know I am no Bangel fan But this: Ugh no. they almost never even used the word love when they were with eachother. You might think that true love is corny, but I sure as hell don't. They used the word love all the time. It was thrown in our faces that this was meant to be the big 'forbidden love of all loves'. And I don't think love is corny at all, though at times it can be. I do however think Angel and Buffy's relationship was incredibly cheesy. And true love, or any kind of lasting love, is based on friendship - something Angel and Buffy never had. Yes they loved each other, but it wasn't true love. Or eternal love or anything like that. I hate that argument.
