I'm looking forward to Tracker hoping to get a chance to see it tonight, I have my fingers crossed for some McKay/Keller scenes! . Then ofcourse we have Michael Shanks back! those are the ones I am really excited about . Todd makes me feel slightly sorry for the Wraith with his many stories of Deaths!, and I also laugh everytime he exagerates how powerful he is politically, which is all the time !.

Did you see "Tracker"? I enjoyed it. It was great to see another runner, but the highlight of the episode was where we got to see Rodney's feelings for Keller. The end of the episode where Rodney and Ronon realise that each other like Keller was painful, though - it looks like they're going to draw it out a bit. Hopefully it'll be resolved (with Rodney getting the girl) by the end of the season. Todd doesn't make me feel too sorry for the Wraith. He does make me laugh with his exaggeration, though. I really liked him having to admit he'd been exaggerating in the last episode too. And SG-1 wise, the next episode for me to watch is "Wormhole X-Treme", which I keep hearing is fantastic.

Yep I saw it. I also enjoyed it, It's the kind of episode we see alot, the Doctor gets kidnapped, our heroes save him/her , but I loved the way they played the Love triangle, not involving Keller in those scenes she knows both of them like her, Ronon and her almost kissed way back in season four, of course Rodney told her he loved her. I am certainly not into the Ronon/McKay challenge for her love, I hope they resolve it as I love both of those characters, that end scene was written beautifully though, I was surprised , another great episode to lead us into the half way point. Wormhole X-Treme is funny , though I dont rememebr to much of the actual episode

I hear that "Wormhole X-Treme" is really funny. I still haven't had a chance to sit down and watch it though (was going to watch it now, but hopped online instead ). Looking forward to it, though. It is the kind of episode that we see a lot of, but I liked that the kidnapper was sympathetic - it was a fairly similar situation to when they met Ronon.
And I'm hoping they resolve the triangle sooner rather than later, and I'd be surprised if she doesn't end up with Rodney. Firstly, we saw a future where they were together up until her death; second, we saw her reaction when he said he loved her; and in this episode, she gave him the teleportation technology as a present. I like both Rodney and Ronon, but Keller seems to be a better match for Rodney.
The scene at the end of the episode was great. It was a nice moment between Rodney and Ronon, with both admitting how they feel about the situation. Rodney was going out of his way to try and "man up", and Ronon was amused by it. Great stuff. After a shaky start, I do think this season's my favourite of SGA so far.

Why is it that everyone keeps kidnapping the doctors and we know both Carson and Keller would try save anyones life, even if they were a killer! . I liked the scene the little girl told Keller that her doll was made by the Kidnapper (cant remember his name) . The triangle hopefully will be in the background, it seems Keller likes Ronon but is in love with Rodney , I also want Keller/Rodney as they are perfect for each other. Although the writers made it clear that Keller has been spending time with Ronon, teaching her to Spar where as it could have been Teyla teaching her. I have seen the names of future episodes, one called 'Vegas' seems to catch my eye, no synopsis as it is so close to the end of the season, but I'm glad sounds exciting .

"Vegas" is an interesting title. I found a one sentence synopsis, and it sounds weird, especially given that it's the second last episode of SGA ever (in spoiler tags, just in case): In the city of Las Vegas, Detective John Sheppard must solve the case on a long string of unusual murders. And agreed re all your points about "Tracker". I just watched "First Contact" and my thoughts are below. Very cool episode. It was great to see Daniel Jackson, but is it just me, or did he seem a little arrogant? Maybe Rodney brings it out of him (the SG-1 episodes with Rodney could shed a little light onto that for me ). We get another alien threat which is cool, and they're quite mysterious. It'll be interesting to see where they go from there. Glad we got more Todd in the episode, even if he does blame Atlantis for the subspace wepon. I kind of found myself feeling sorry for him there! And the cliffhanger was cool, if similar to the season four finale. But the explosion happening on Atlantis makes it seem worse. And that's two explosions after Woolsey told Sheppard not to burn the city down. And there was a bit more with the love triangle. Ronon's definitely chasing Keller now! Also watched SG-1's "Wormhole X-Treme" today. It was fun, but I didn't think it was quite as cool as some people had led me to believe.

That first spoiler reminded me so much of Discworld Noir . First Contact: Well I cant say to much on Daniels arrogance as you arent far enough threw SG1 to learn about that, but that is who Daniel is, he developes into that kind of character in SG1, I actually think he was less arrogant than usual, I believe Michael Shanks had his character rewritten in SG1 to 'update' him, I guess, so MS could play a fresher style.
They certainly knew there way around Atlantis, so what is there relation to the Ancients!?.
I think Todd was always planning to decieve them, didnt he say something like "you must've found out about my blah blah" then stunned them all not sure though, anyway I laughed at the thought of Wraith flying the Daedalus that is such a great scene!.
Did you see the Wraith cruisers explode going into Hyperspace!? another awesome CGI effect along with those other Alien guys coming out of hyperspace almost touching the water!.
Seems like the thing Rodney switched on has the side effect of effecting every intergalactic window, dial a stargate get blown up? or is something crazy going on , on the planet!?.
Do you think Keller knows how Ronon feels towards her?. Great episode though, so much action, cant wait until the next one!. the episode '200' is way better. That touches on the whole worm hole extreme thing.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, Nico. I was watching it and thinking he seemed very un-Daniel, but I figure I'll see how his character develops through the next five seasons of SG-1. It'll be interesting to see the aliens' connection to the Ancients, though I guess it's a possibility that they just had an ability to track the technology, since they knew when it was activated. I didn't catch Todd saying that, so maybe he was planning on deceiving them (as hard as I find it to believe!). I did love his line about Wraith not feeding, and asking "then what do we become?". It kind of reminded me of the retrovirus and what they did to Michael. Wraith flying the Daedalus is great. And you just know they're going to be a threat now! I was astounded by all the CG in the episode. It was full of fantastic shots. Yeah, the device seems to have something strange happening to it. They did mention radiation, so maybe Stargates just don't work well under those conditions. But if the Stargate's destroyed, does that mean we'll have a Stargate show without a Stargate? I think Keller has an idea of how Ronon feels, especially given what happened between them last season. It seems like she finds it cute, but is holding out for Rodney to make a move.

Well I still want to know how they got threw Atlantis' shield, we have seen many a wraith dart perish on it and many weapons fired at it, and its clear the only people who can get threw are Ancient ships, and what is in those suits! I want to know, the scene they were cutting the neck part almost made me throw up . It's possible he didnt say it, I didnt hear the line clearly enough hopefully I will catch a rerun!, and yes I wonder what the Wraith would become if they didn't require to feed on humans, it would end there war with each other, causing them possibly to be like the Gou'ald, and start to enslave rather than murder? quite interesting storylines, I know the writers were saying they want to keep the bigger storylines for the movies they hope to release. They really have went all out with the CG, that puddle jumper hitting the stargate from an earlier episode still stands out in my mind, I think we may see another epic space battle, SG1 done them so brilliantly. I am guessing the stargate survives, or else it is a time rewind episode, which I can see happening, it has stayed in my mind about you saying someone dying and everytime someone is in a life or death predicament I am so nervy . damn you Allan! Though you bring up an interesting point, I always wondered if the Stargate in Atlantis was special? different from the others in the Pegasus Galaxy? Jewel Staite is great, I have much more appreciation for her after Firefly, I also love Keller. I found it funny McKay admitted his feelings for Keller to Ronon instead of Keller!.

I just figured it got through the shield, because it was basically a nuclear blast. And we have never seen anyone trying to nuke Atlantis before, so it's feasible. The cutting the neck thing was a little worrying. I loved Zelenka's reaction to it (speaking of Zelenka, after meeting David Nykl and seeing he's nothing like the character, I really find watching him amazing). Who knows what the Wraith would be like. They could be like the Goa'uld of maybe they'll become more like the Nox. Or maybe they'll just start eating humans the old-fashioned way. The effects keep outdoing themselves, and I'm really hoping we get a spectacular battle. Some of the things I've loved about the CG this season is the way they've used it for some of the more subtle shots - including the Puddle Jumper bumping the spacegate. Maybe the Stargate survives, or maybe they steal one from another planet. Or make Todd do it if they manage to keep their alliance after last episode. Or does Earth need their Stargate? Maybe we'll get the "analogue" SG-1 one. I don't think the Atlantis Stargate is that special - all the ones in Pegasus seem to be cool, like it's newer technology or something. As for characters dying, that was advertised for "Tracker". I wonder if they were talking about the runner in it? But SGA does seem to like to kill off characters more than SG-1. Jewel Staite is great, but sometimes I find her a bit boring as Keller, compared to Kaylee. But I still love the character, though. And it is amusing that Rodney admitted his feelings to Ronon first. I'm hoping we get an episode where Rodney finds the footage of him telling Keller he loves her - it'd be interesting to see how he reacts to that!

Didn't sheppard cause a Nuclear blast on the outside of the Atlantis shield? and it held, and Rodney said they can't switch to cloak to soon or they would all die , the episode they wanted to make the Wraith think Atlantis was destroyed, so we know it stops Nuclear blasts . I remember the scenes when Carsons drug was spread to a Hive, and when the gang went back to the hive to 'clean up' teh Wriath had been feeding on each other because they were transforming to humans at different times, I found that really creepy and shows just how animalistic the Wraith are. Theres a scene from SG1 , not sure if you have seen it yet where Baal steals a whole crapload of stargates, maybe they will do that and build there own stargate system . Well Kaylee was my least favourite Firefly character so I am more than glad her SGA character is completely different, I still miss Carson though !. I'm looking forward to Rodney & Keller getting together, I just hope they put it into the season and not the movie (them actually getting together) .

Beck where abouts are you on Atlantis? still enjoying it? . I read the Character Synopsis' for Staragte Universe, you remember episode '200' of SG1 where we see a young teenage SG1 team?, the characters sound exactly like that, I am hoping they dont stick with a bunch of teens running around 'hooking' up I am hoping it is all rumours but I like my characters to be a lot deeper than a puddle . Allan did you see last Fridays episode?

Where did you see character synopses for SGU, Nico? Thank God for that! I saw episode 11 and really enjoyed it. I loved the interplay between Daniel and Rodney in this episode. It was great stuff. And as always, Todd was great. I loved him trying to explain to Keller trying to explain why he was holding everybody captive. The guilty-sounding "like I say, it's complicated" was great. And of course, there was the ending where Keller rejects Ronon. Much as I was pleased, I still felt for the guy! I'm not sure what I thought of the revelation about the Asgard being behind the problems, though. It was a very cool twist, but I was hoping we'd have a new alien race. And I wasn't very happy that it spoiled the death of the Asgard - and how, either. But I guess something from SG-1 was going to get spoiled eventually. But that begs the question, how did Hermiod survive? And I only have one more episode of SG-1 season five left. I just saw Daniel's ascension. The episode was beautifully handled, even though I know he'll be back.

Wow Beck, I thought you were still on season one! How many seasons did you buy? . SGU Character Synopsis at gateworld.net/news/2008/09/meet_the_istargate_universei_tea.shtml Episode 11 Todd is picking up more and more human phrases I tell ya! Yeah I think we all knew McKay is perfect for Keller, but Ronon pretending he wasn't into her like that broke my heart, aww poor guy the first lady he takes a chance with since Sateda and it falls apart but I can't wait to see her tell Rodney that she has feelings for him!. I was surprised, that is the first spoiler for SG1 we have seen on SGA for a long long time, and it was a major one I cant even remember how Hermiod survived, but I did enjoy seeing the Asgard especially because Michael Shanks done the Voices of a few of the Asgard in SG1. Some great writing and I love Mckay at the end when Daniel says "I appreciate you saying you respected me" and McKay says "I was going to say I regret you being her" I dont think Michael Shanks was originally supposed to return, he was replaced but asked to come back cant remember where I read that.

I'm not sure what I think of the SGU characters. Apart from Colonel Young, they all seem to be kids! With any luck, they're just going for a "younger, sexier" cast, but it'll still be Stargate at heart. Did you read the comments, Nico? It seems a lot of people are calling for Todd to appear as the token non-human character. I have to say, that would be brilliant! I also find it interesting that they want a known actor for the role of Young - when SGA, they were after no known actors whatsoever. Maybe they figure it's part of why SGA hasn't done as well as SG-1. Re episode 11: I meant to check the credits to see if Michael Shanks did the Asgard voices in this episode! I'm guessing it's kind of likely. That scene with Daniel and Rodney was great. I loved the "You can't give someone a compliment unless they're dying, can you?" and Rodney's response "I'm working on it". Gold. Episode 12: The episode was enjoyable, but not one of my favourites. It seemed like a bit of a throwaway episode, though it was still about the plague.
McKay and Beckett had some great scenes together, and I loved the closing bit about whether Rodney's interested in someone.
It is bugging me how little we're seeing of Keller and Woolsey, though. For supposed regulars, it seems like they're only in about half of the episodes. I've watched the first seven episodes of SG-1 season six, and I'm enjoying them a lot. It's fast becoming one of my favourite seasons, I think. Jonas is a great replacement for Daniel and brings a different kind of humour to the show. It's a shame he won't be around for long - it would have been nice to be able to fit them both in. Ironically, the very next episode of SG-1 I saw after complaining about the fate of the Asgard being spoiled in SGA was the season five finale; where they reveal the Asgard are clones and they're degenerating. If only I'd seen that slightly earlier, I wouldn't have been so shocked. And in other Stargate news, SGU begins filming on Feb 4. And Amanda Tapping has confirmed that the first SGA movie, and third SG-1 movie will film simultaneously next year. SGA's will apparently be released next year, with the SG-1 one released in 2010. Amanda has said she'll be in the SG-1 movie and possibly the SGA one, as well as the SGA finale. You can read the article here. And I'm not sure if you read the press release about it, but it's below. It does sound quite interesting, even if "while breaking new ground in the relationships between mostly young and desperate explorers" has me a little worried.

I just think having such a young cast is not why I watch stargate, sure age is just a number but I dont want it to turn into a teen romp with a few stargates thrown in, Stargate has never been about the romance any romance has been purely building up tension. I think MGM have had a bigger say in SGU than they did with SGA/SG1 I mean personally I prefer Atlantis. RE episode 12 I enjoyed it , seeing Carson/Rodney together again was definetly my highlight in this episode, both of them jumping into the Wraith Dart together and Reversing the Darts beaming technology quite clever, even though we pretty much knew that was there only way out. Funny you mention Keller, have you read JM's blog recently? there has been a lot of people saying Keller is used way to much, personally I dont agree but I do agree Teyla has been shoved out of the main Dynamic so I enjoyed seeing active Teyla in this episode. I am certainly looking forward to the movies! I just hope they continue to release SGA movies like they have been doing with SG1. SGU does sound interesting, although I am confused, does this mean there will be no offworld exploration? it is sounding a bit to Star Trekky for my liking ( and I hate StarTrek!) The main reason I didn't watch SG1 right after I finished SGA (at the time it was up to season 3) was because I didnt think I would like the main team as much as I like Atlantis' main team, but 4 months later Iain convinced me and I watched them and I loved them. I just keep seeing the Sci Fi version of Dawsons Creek in my head when I hear those character synopsis!

Seeing Carson and Rodney together was great. Sadly, it's something we don't see enough of with Paul McGillion not being a regular. I haven't been keeping up with JM's blog (ad I probably should), and I don't think Keller's getting too much screen time at all. Maybe those people are bitter about the lack of Carson, and feel that Keller's stealing his role? It is god to see Teyla get used more. I haven't been as big a fan of her since she got pushed to the sidelines, and I'm not sure if she became boring because of less time, or she got less time because she got boring. I think the young cast in SGU is risky, and I really hope it's not going to be the show's thrust, turning it into a soap opera. It isn't what Stargate's about. And I was thinking Dawson's Creek, too. I do think they'll be exploring planets by the sound of the press release. My guess is they'll be jumping from planet to planet, but not be able to control where they go. And now I'm more than halfway through SG-1, and have seen more episodes of that than will be filmed for SGA, I have to say that I prefer SGA as well. While the characters in SG-1 are fun, I prefer the SGA crew, personally. And hopefully we'll see multiple SGA movies, though what I would really love to see (though it's not going to happen) is for SGA season 6 to get launched for 2010, after they've kicked off SGU.

Yay for SG movies! HOOK UP JACK AND SAM ALREADY. We have finished season 2 of Atlantis and the first 2 episodes of season 3. I wanted to kick every single one of them for giving Micheal the drug again and risking what happened last time happening again. Worst of all was Carson staying there, and them not having the brains to realise if they got any wraith abilities back they would call another wraith ship there Micheal already hated the wraith again and while of course they shouldn't trust him, or even let him go, he would have been WAY more helpful to them as he was.

Yeah, there were a lot of stupid things done in those episodes. Still, you're not far from "Duet" now, Beck, which is a great episode if McKay's been growing on you. Re SGA episode 13: A bloody clip show!!! Man, they piss me off, especially when they're wasting one of the final season's episodes with one.
But all wasn't lost. It was cool to see them finally address all the death and destruction that the Atlantis crew have been responsible for, and it was nice to see Woolsey be the hero and save the day. And SG-1 wise, I've seen up to "Sight Unseen" which had some interesting moments, but wasn't great. On the whole, though, I'm really enjoying season six - things are moving forward, and it's great to see the Jaffa mobilising and forging alliances with the Tok'ra. And Sci Fi Wire has some SGU concept art. Looks interesting.
