Yeah we had Home Ec. too. It was so easy and free food was always a plus. And we had a good variety of different kinds of foods we made. Bad thing is, one year I had it right after lunch so I was full so I didn't get to eat much.

Why didn't you just not eat at lunch, Bre? You'd either save yourself from preparing food in the morning, or save money.

Yeah but I really liked our school lunch, and couldn't guarantee our food would turn out great.

Or if it was like my school, you'd make something like a cake and share with the whole class - not exactly a balanced lunch!

Yeah but I really liked our school lunch, and couldn't guarantee our food would turn out great. That really is part of the joy of learning to cook - you do (well, I did) have regular disasters.

when i was in cooking class at school we once had to make some wied baked apple things, what we had to do was core the apple fill the hole with raisens carve a smile into the apple peel and stick it in the oven, it sounds pretty simple but i forgot to slice the peel, as we were sat around waiting there was a huge bang the five apples i put in the oven all exploded at the same time

Yeah, but only fairly simple ones. I have a super yummy chocolate cake recipe that has sour cream in it.

Sour cream in cake? I fail at making cakes unfortunately, but our oven is more to blame than me. It over heats

Do you have a fan-forced oven Beck?
My cakes are usually pretty good but they always rise more in the middle instead of staying flat.

Sour cream in cakes make them very moist. I have a great carrot cake recipe with sour cream in it. Combine it with a heap of cream cheese icing and ;D

Yeah yeah and we do, but it does make cooking some things like cakes hard.
