BUMP! I have found the best cake shop ever - Cutie Cups. The Red Velvet cupcakes are divine. We've ordered Jayden a giant Mickey Mouse themed giant cupcake for his birthday party. Their facebook page has some great wedding photos, as well as themes. The halloween ones were so cute

I'm not sure, We were going to make her a cupcake to eat and the cake for everyone else so I will probably use rolled Fondant icing for it, would that be heavy?

Yeah it is. I have a cake recipe that I use for decorated cakes. Its a dense and moist cake and can handle the heavy decos. It's pretty easy and it tastes awesome. I'll post it for you tonight

I used to dislike coconut but recently I have found myself enjoying it, so no aversion. I will probably cheat for all of Emily's other birthdays if I botch her cake up .

Ok. Will post it for you tonight I love the idea of making and decorating kids birthday cakes. I reckon I'll look forward to it every year I will have to get the Womans Weekly Birthday Cake Book I used to choose one out of every year. Though I bet there are millions out there on the net.

For Nico: Coconut Cake125g Butter 1/2 teaspoon coconut essence 1 Cup Caster Sugar 2 Eggs 1/2 Cup Coconut 1 1/2 Cups Self Raising Flour 300g Sour Cream 1/3 Cup Milk Beat butter, sugar and essence together. Add eggs one at a time and beat. Beat until light and fluffy and changed colour. Take off mixer and stir in half the flour and half the milk and mix together. Add remaining flour and milk and mix in. Pour into greased and baking paper lined tin. Back in oven on 180 degrees for about 40 minutes until a skewer comes out clean. Notes: I watch this cake like a hawk. It can go from perfect to burnt quickly so just keep an eye on it. Its a really dense cake but very moist. Excellent for thick and heavy frosting or decos

I made your cake Loz, I think I overcooked it but it tasted really nice as long as I cut all the burnt bits off! obviously because I burnt it it wasn't very moist but I am going to remake it this weekend and this time have Steven watch Emily so I can watch it like a Hawk and make it properly.

Well I'm making the famous (in the Hillier family ) choc mint cheesecake today. It's luscious as but damn, I've forgotten how fiddly it is!!
