Had cupcakes from my favourite bakery for my birthday - Primrose Bakery. Such an adorable bakery (went to the Covent Garden one for the first day) and delicious cakes! One of the mums brought me a giant piece of peanut butter chocolate cake, and oh my god. She's a pastry chef and her cakes are always so great.

Does your school allow nuts? My kids aren't even allowed anything that could even contain traces of it. Sounds good but, now I need to convince someone to make me a peanut butter chocolate cake.

No, we don't. I don't have any boys allergic to it in my class, but it stayed in a bag, in a plastic container, until I got home. I'm extremely cautious with peanuts!

You might have seen articles/stories ( like this one ) about a place in Canberra called Patissez and their "Freakshakes". They are crazy good. I went a couple of weeks ago and its gone mental since then. Went today and there was a two and a half hour wait for a table! A one hour wait for a shake Oh well, worth it Here they are: Here is our takeway ones from today - not quite as impressive

I'll go try one once the hype dies down, I'm not willing to wait that long

I've been trying to look for a good apple pie here in S'pore (I blame Masterchef for this sudden craving) but I can't seem to find one. Every person I ask always point me to the McDonald's apple pie. Like, seriously.
Did stumbled upon a place that has a good apple crumble though (my fav desert when I was in NZ).
It's times like these that I wished I was back in NZ. Western deserts are so much easier to find!

Want a good recipe so you can bake one yourself?

No. It will be wasted on me. I can't bake/cook to save my life.

I'm never eating crepes or strudel in Singapore anymore!
I've been spoiled when I was in Austria and Hungary.

Crepes definitely better in France, but i totally agree on the Austrian strudel! It's so different! I feel cheated with all the strudels I've eaten in Singapore. Grrr.

Crepes definitely better in France, but i totally agree on the Austrian strudel! I had the best croissant in HK, weirdly - even better than all the ones I've had in Paris!

When you get to Melbourne next go try Il Melograno out. Closest to real Italian gelato we have here.
