Anyone else think jon snow is the child of lyanna stark and rheagar targaryan and therefore has a ckaim to the iron throne? If he is still alive. . .

I thought he was Ned's son. Did that change?!

So ned would have everyone believe. but i was re-watching and re-reading tje first installment and this is what i believe. ned was an honourable man its stated and made clear many times so we are supposed to believe he would cheat on his newly pregnant wife? I just dont think so. ned found his sister in a "bed of blood" suffering from a fever (death thru childbirth perhaps) she made him make her a promise. was this promise to raise her son as his own? i think so. its said that jon has strong stark features so its safe to assume that he has a stark as a parent but it doesnt have to be ned. he told king robert that it is his bastard but look what robert has allowed to happen to other targaryan children so it makes sense he wouldnt tell him. Also we saw in the show when jon asked ned to tell him about his mother ned nearly started crying as if he loved the woman alot. Personally i think that ned has lied to everyone about jons true identity to protect him and that he will play a much bigger role than we thought!

I never thought of that.
I always thought that the mother was some major player in the book that's why we don't know who the mother is and why Ned refuses to tell anyone. But your theory would work!
Have you read all the books so far?

I've heard that theory before, it is a pretty popular one. And likely too.

Not loving this series nearly as much as the first Shaun says the second book isn't as good so perhaps it's the source material.

Renly. I liked Renly in the show more than I did in the books. I didn't care for him a whole lot so when he died, I was pretty meh about it. But I will miss Renly in the show. And I didn't expect him to die so soon in the episode!

Really? He only had a total of what, 10 minutes on screen? I didn't bat an eyelid when he died. I barely remembered who he was.

Of the two brothers, I prefer Renly over Stannis. I don't like Stannis. So yeah, I'm sad that Renly died because that means Stannis will get more screen time.

I don't like Stannis either but Renly would have been a terrible king. Not worse than Joffrey though, moron. I can't wait until he dies I've seen 6 episodes so far and I am glad the series has finally warmed up and is getting interesting. Can't wait for ep 9 and the big battle. And I am really happy that Tyrion has been given the top billing on the credits now - very deserved.

Its such a tough ask whizzing from location to location, storyline to storyline. The best episode of the series was the one that focused just in one location. I mean would we really have complained if Arya, Jon Snow, Dany or Robb were missing for an entire episode and then showed up in force for the next episode leaving out the Kings Landing crew to really give some meat to them.
I think Arya has suffered the most. In the books you really see her transform into a darker character but in the show they rushed through her. From the moment she is captured to the moment she escapes she goes through all sorts but in the show she was plucked out as cupbearer and spent a few eps having heart to hearts with Tywin. It was good material but i think we lost a lot of her trials and tribulations.
Thank god that the next book will be split into two series. The story may be able to stick a little closer to the books as there was some monster deviations.
Also hear Mckenzie Crook will be on the show next season. No one knows what character though, possibilities are Vargo the goat, Ramsay Bolton, Mance Rayder or Beric Dondarrion. Also we will be getting the Reed siblings. Strangely late though . . .

Well the Red Wedding broke the internet. I must be a cold hearted bitch because the only things that bothered me really was Grey Wind dying and Arya seeing shit go down. I just never gave a toss about Robb, his wife or his mother I guess.... I thought the scene was well done though. Building the tension and the atmosphere. Something just wasn't right from the get go and you knew it. And then it all went to hell. This is amusing: gawker.com/6-minutes-of-people-losing-their-shit-over-last-nights-511100650

I read the book so I knew what happened - just surprise they changed some parts of it. I'm just amused whenever I see shock/disappointed/anger over the episode 'cause all I keep thinking, "Why are they surprise? Did they not read the book?!" It's Ned Stark all over again.
